Passion Lost to Profit

Happy New Month to everyone at Hive Learner. The Same month is my birthday, so still, let me shout out. I can’t deny the fact that the world is slowly changing to a business-minded people. I mean, it's common to have to do business that can earn you profit quickly, not business you love doing. If not, starvation will kill you. That's the true fact.

In Nigeria now let's say for example hospital doctors in the house dont be annoyed at me but it real fact that the price at which doctor charges patients is exorbitant even for a small illness there have been complaints about this a lot they run hospitals just to see small margins and make ends meet rather than saving lives. The annoying part is that if you are to bring a patient who needs care and attention like emergency doctors won't touch the patient unless payment is first made That's the way hospitals are now most people are now focused on using herbal medicines or pharmacy since they can’t afford the heavy billings at hospitals.

Even Educational System is another thing to be concerned about the way schools bills student now adays is another things like you initially have to pay for everything i mean everything even to breath at school is been paid for to pass in exam hall is been paid for to sit is been paid for it now a money businesses organization each semester they heavy price been implemented on school fees would leave some student speechless where should they start from and gather the money so it something to be worried about.

It is easy to see why this happens, in a country like ours inflation is skyrocketing even unemployment is high, survival is a must the temptation to make a profit is now a must in our society rather than doing the work for love instead we focus on making a profit mostly. Parents push their children into a profession that is safe or lucrative while young people are chasing careers where wealth is assured rather than fulfillment.

I have seen so many business which started with good intentions making their business cheap and later swap to the idea of making profit what you never knew was it business strategy to draw customers in and what influence them or make them chage i could say it the economy situation the price at which things are been tax on business owners not funny for them to meet ends meet they are going to also change it money making business rather than satisfying customer.

So how do we find our way back? I think the answers begin with awareness and courage. We need to redefine success not by how much money they makes but by the impact they create and the love they put into what they do. Parents and mentors need to encourage young people to pursue their passions even if they seem less lucrative at first. Communities need to celebrate dedication, service, and integrity, not just wealth. I wish they could.

Individually, it also means reconnecting with purpose. Ask yourself: Why did I choose this profession? Was it to serve, to create, to help, or was it just to earn money? Sometimes, even small changes go a long way like volunteering, mentoring, or focusing on quality rather than quantity can remind us of why our work matters beyond the bank account.
