There is a small room in our hotel that many employees visit but few guests will ever see.

It is the sewing room.

Inside, surrounded by spools of thread, needles, buttons, and neatly folded fabrics, works one of the quietest women in the building.

Marta is the hotel seamstress. She spends her days repairing uniforms, replacing buttons, fixing torn pockets, shortening hems, and giving worn garments a second chance.

At first glance, her work might seem simple.
