Hello dear Ladies of Hive community,

There are nights when my workday ends later than I expected. By then, the hotel has become quieter. The conversations have faded, the dining area has been organized, and the rush that filled the day has finally come to an end.

Before heading home, I sometimes allow myself a small pause.

Just five minutes.

I walk to a place where I can see the sea, or simply hear it if the darkness has already hidden the horizon. I do not go there looking for answers. I do not go to forget the day. I simply stand still.

The waves keep arriving one after another, just as they have always done.

It makes me think about how different our lives are from the sea. We hurry, we worry, we make plans, we carry responsibilities that often feel larger than ourselves. Yet the sea continues its rhythm, untouched by our schedules.

I have noticed that after a busy day, my thoughts are usually loud. I replay conversations, unfinished tasks, little mistakes I wish I had avoided.

But the sound of the waves has a quiet way of changing that.

Not because it solves anything.

The work will still be there tomorrow. The responsibilities will still be waiting. Life will continue asking for my attention.

What changes is my perspective.

Standing in front of something so vast reminds me that today's worries are only one small part of a much larger story.

The sea does not tell me what to do.

It does not erase my tiredness.

It simply reminds me that not everything depends on me.

There is comfort in that thought.

Perhaps that is why those five minutes have become part of my own quiet ritual.

When I finally leave, my life has not changed.

But I have.

I walk away a little lighter, carrying the same responsibilities with a calmer heart.
