Pumpkin final report

I started this hive-world-champ competition quite optimistically.
But I will declare myself the hive-world-champ loser of the year, a little joke at my own expense.
I only managed to get two pumpkins.The two from the last report.

Oh I know I know, I didn't participate last year and I had quite a few pumpkins.
The year was extremely difficult Several heat waves almost wiped out my pumpkins.
I tried my best.
I watered regularly, added hay to prevent excessive evaporation but it didn't help much .
I managed to grow two pumpkins, the third was well on its way .

But I cut it with that, I started preparing the garden for next year.

During the season, I also produced Ludaye pumpkins from my own seedlings, I planted them in the garden in mid-August.
But it turned out to be too late, I got one small pumpkin, I treated the chickens with it, it was not ripe yet.
Although I had a lot of flowers on these pumpkins. Apparently the lack of pollinators took its toll. Maybe I'll start pollinating myself by hand.

The announcement of colder weather and I didn't have many pumpkins to wait for to grow.
They made me plow the garden.
And start preparing for next year.

I've definitely learned some lessons from this year.
I'll try to be better prepared and organized for the heatwaves next year.
Of course, I'll plant the pumpkins near some shade, that is, so that they get partial shade during the day. To reduce the heat of the sun a little.
I should have enough pumpkin seeds for next season. But I will try to get new seeds from my uncle.
And if necessary, I will buy new seeds.
