Happy Saturday, Hive DIY friends! I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your loved ones during this time when unity and peace should be paramount. I'm here to share with you once again, and we'll continue with more Christmas decorations, this time to complement my Christmas tree.

Entre pensar que más puedo añadir a la decoración de la casa encontré ésta caja de regalo algo diferente al resto, y es que es elaborada con palillos de madera, y cubierta con hilos, además el toque final lo dará las luces de navidad dentro de ella, me animé a realizar esta caja para colocarla debajo del árbol.

While thinking about what else I could add to the house decorations, I found this box as a gift. It's a bit different from the rest, as it's made with wooden sticks and covered with yarn. The finishing touch is the Christmas lights inside. I decided to make this box to put under the tree.

Realizar esta caja consta de tiempo y paciencia, ya que los palillos de madera deben prepararse antes además se debe en lo posible reforzar las esquinas para que no quede flojo, y si me dió batalla esta parte pero lo logré, a continuación los materiales y el paso a paso.

Making this box requires time and patience, as the wooden sticks must be prepared beforehand, and the corners should be reinforced as much as possible so that it doesn't become loose. This part was a struggle for me, but I managed it. Below are the materials and the step-by-step instructions.

Paso a paso / Step by step

El primer será seleccionar los palillos de madera, corte la punta más fina con una tijera, ahora voy a ir a unir dos palillos con silicón, en total voy a utilizar ocho.

The first step is to select the wooden sticks, cut off the thinnest tip with scissors, now I'm going to join two sticks with silicone, in total I'm going to use eight.

Ahora voy a cubrir cada pieza con mecatillo, la idea es fijar bien y que quede con más grosor para que no se caiga, la idea es formar un cuadro para la base y otro para la parte superior, así que gastaremos para estás dos partes 16 palillos.

Now I'm going to cover each piece with twine. The idea is to secure it well and make it thicker so it doesn't fall off. The idea is to form a square for the base and another for the top, so we'll use 16 sticks for these two parts.

Ahora el siguiente paso es armar 4 pares más, ya que cada uno de ellos lo vamos a colocar en las esquinas para formar la caja, aquí viene lo más importante, una vez comencemos a pegar todas las piezas y ya al obtener la forma de caja, es donde voy a comenzar a reforzar las esquina.

Now the next step is to assemble 4 more pairs, since we are going to place each of them in the corners to form the box. Here comes the most important part: once we start gluing all the pieces and we get the box shape, that's where I'm going to start reinforcing the corners.

Para reforzar utilicé cinta adhesiva y luego mecatillo en cada esquina, el siguiente paso es comenzar a cubrir la caja con el estambre, utilicé color blanco y rojo, no importa el orden en que cubras, pero si trata de colocar la mayor cantidad de estambre, solo debes ir enrollando entre el palillo para sujetar.

To reinforce, I used adhesive tape and then twine in each corner. The next step is to start covering the box with yarn. I used white and red yarn. The order in which you cover it doesn't matter, but try to put as much yarn as possible. Just wrap it around the stick to hold it in place.

El siguiente paso es comenzar a cubrir con la cinta dorada, la que utilicé es del año pasado así que decidí reciclarla, con la roja cubrimos la otra mitad y realizamos un lazo facil, ya solo nos queda colocar las luces dentro y listo.

The next step is to start covering with the gold ribbon; the one I used is from last year, so I decided to recycle it. With the red ribbon, we cover the other half and make an easy bow. Now we just have to put the lights inside, and that's it.
