My Hangul Learning Strategy: Inspired by How Kids Learn
Today, I uploaded two videos on one of my YouTube channels, which I’ll also be using as a study guide for learning Hangul.
The strategy I came up with is to study Hangul the same way I learned English as a child.
I also observed how my daughter, who’s less than 2 years old, memorized the alphabet — and it all came down to familiarization. We really need to remember what each character looks like, and then learn the sound it produces when used. That’s the same approach I’ve decided to use in my study method.
I’m creating videos that I can use during practice sessions. Most of the video tutorials I’ve seen are full of explanations and sometimes too advanced, so it’s hard to retain the lessons. With the method I came up with, I can remember each character and its sound because I made reading practice videos that I can watch over and over until I’ve memorized everything.
