Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome to my blog! Venka the Vile is another legendary, neutral melee unit from the Rebellion set. He's melee unit that does a lot of damage in a single hit while having the ability to hit from afar. Let's take a look at his lore, his stats and abilities, his role in battle and possible combos.

Lore

Venka the Vile is one of the crucial characters in the Chaos Empire’s forces during the Rebellion era. According to Splinterlands lore, he rules the city of Port Pristine with brutal efficiency, enforcing the Empire’s will and suppressing resistance with her legionnaires. His title “the Vile” reflects both his harsh governance and the fear he inspires among those who oppose the Empire.

Port Pristine was part of the Kingdom of Khymia before it bowed to the overwhelming might of the Chaos Empire. Now, Commander Venka the Vile rules the city with brutal efficiency. Her battalion of legionnaires enforces compliance with the laws of the Empire and ensures no one gets any stupid ideas about inalienable rights like life, liberty, and other such nonsense.

Lately, however, Venka’s legionnaires have been turning up dead: slit throats in some shadowy alley, felled in the street with an arrow to the eye by a rooftop sniper, or blown to bits by explosives both incendiary and magical. Her requests for replacements are drawing questions from her superiors, and Venka knows she’ll have to squash this little resistance before it becomes something more.

Stats and Abilities

Venka the Vile deals a massive damage in a single hit of seven melee attack. He has five speed ensuring he hits first and kills the enemy. This also decreases the chance of the enemy evading his attack. He has little defense so it's better to place him in the rear or the middle of the team. This is ideal since he can hit from afar with his Charge ability. He's a nightmare for no attack units like the Ulundin Overseer because of his Oppress ability that enables him to double his already massive damage to units with no attack. Further he has Piercing ability that allows his attack to go through armor. Finally his Trample ability enables him to hit the adjacent unit next to his target when it gets defeated. He's truly an offensive threat in battle.

Role in Battle and Possible Combos

Venka is a strong damage dealer but has low defense and health. It's best to place him in the middle to avoid early damage from enemy attackers and sneakers. It's better if there's a Taunt unit in the team to attract Opportunity attackers. As a neutral unit, he has great utility and can be used in any splinter. He will be a great attacker against enemies with heavy armor because of his huge damage and Piercing ability. There are rulesets where he can be countered so we must be aware of these. Rulesets like Briar Patch where his melee attack will be punished and Earthquake or Noxious Fumes where his low health is not ideal. Overall, he will be your number one damage dealer in the team but have to watch out for his poor defense.

Featured Battle

In this battle, both players have Venka in their lineup. Player davemccoy had his Venka in the middle of the team and had lower health units to attract Opportunity attackers. His opponent, shuden's Venka was in last and was killed immediately by Dave's units with Opportunity ability. Dave's Venka utilized his Piercing ability to further do damage to health after breaking the enemy's armor. Venka's offensive ability is on full display in this battle.
