Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to my blog. There are a lot of updates announced in the Splinterlands discord channel. We'll cover each in today's post and share my thoughts on those as well.

Splintervibes

First up is Splintervibes that was announced in this post. It's a surprising update to me because this was the first time I heard of it. They're music NFTs, Splinterlands style! It reminds me of the music themed game on Hive, Risingstargame. When this rolls out, players can obtain NFTs in a number of ways. The first tranche consist of 12 music NFTs with 100 copies of each for a total of 1,200 for the initial tranche.

The NFTs can be obtained in different ways. There are NFTs that can be bought with Glints and DEC, then there are others that can be bought using resources produced by land such as Grain, wood, stone and iron. There are also cards that can be earned from ranked rewards and Frontier chests. Also, these NFTs can be traded in the market.

I like that Splinterlands is enhancing gameplay with character driven music NFTs. I'll earn some in game and purchase some too with Glint tokens. Now the demand for Glints is increasing with more utility introduced.

HANV, New Conflicts Airdrop Card

HANV is the new legendary archon that can be obtained from Conflicts airdrop. He is a Fire archon that grants the Deflect ability to all Undead and Goblins. He is a tactics archon that gives Swiftness and Double Strike abilities to one unit. I can already imagine users giving the Double Strike ability to multi attack units like Molten Elemental or Gramel the Hunger.

Boss Monsters

Boss Monsters was mentioned when the Exemplars were rolled out. I've been saving my Glints to upgrade my Exemplar but not sure yet what build to fight the boss monsters. No details yet on how this will be played as well as the rewards mechanics but I'm already looking forward to this update.

SPS for Glints

There has been a growing demand for soulbound token Glints. This shows that summoners are enjoying playing the game more than earning tradable tokens. Glint tokens are used to upgrade buy reward cards and upgrade Exemplars. It takes a lot of Glints to upgrade Exemplars that will be used to fight boss monsters and the devs responded to the community call. Players can swap their Ranked SPS earnings to double the GLINT earnings for each battle. What's great with this is that the SPS will be burnt thus supporting the economy by introducing deflationary element to SPS.

Almondrel Event

New skins and ruleset in this Valentine themed event.

Hey Jealousy ruleset enables units with highest health to be Taunt units. Using Taunt units to divide enemy attacks is one of my playbooks so having a free Taunt unit will be good for me.

New regular skins available in the shop for Glints and DEC while Obsessive versions can be obtained from loot boxes in the the reward shop. There are also new clothes and accessories for our avatars. Get ready for the season of love!

Final Thoughts

We've seen plenty of updates last year and Splinterlands is not slowing down. Splintervibes introduces a new way to enjoy game play with unique character driven music NFTs. The arrival of Hanv as the Seventh Airdrop Card will reshape the meta and introduce new strategic possibilities. The rise of formidable Boss Monsters will establish utility of Exemplars while with the flexibility of converting SPS earnings into Glints, players can focus on progressing their characters and collection while reducing SPS inflation. All good stuff from Splinterlands!
