Splinterlands: Our Latest Guild Brawl and Buying Gladiator Cases

Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to my blog! Our guild just finished our latest brawl. Today's post covers the results, the rewards we earned and my purchase and opening of Gladiator cases.

Our Guild Rank and My Brawl Performance

Our guild finished in eighth place in our brawl. It's a worse result compared to our previous performance in prior brawls but sometimes luck is not on our sides. We still earned seventy seven crowns that we can use to upgrade our buildings.

I'm happy with my performance in this brawl. I managed to contribute seven wins out of nine battles. It's an above average performance for me this time. Each of us earned 4k Merits and 50 SPS.

Purchase and Opening Gladius Cases

I have over 5k merits which I used to buy two Gladius cases. Each case contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. This means that I'll have ten new cards to add to my collection.

Of the ten cards, I got four rares and one gold foil common. It's not a bad pull but not great either. It's been months since I've last seen a legendary Gladiator card. Better luck next time then.

Featured Battles with Fina Voxom

There were battles that the enemy guild used tactics to prevent our guild from using Quora. In such battles, I used Fina Voxom instead. She is the pride of my Gladiator card collection.

A gold foil legendary card that deals four melee damage and has abilities to complement her as a primary damage dealer. She is also an elf that benefits from the elf archon.

In this battle, I built my usual Earth team led by Kaylia Silverleaf as the archon. She decreases magic attack by the enemy team and grants the Execute ability to all elves. My team is composed of all elf team except for my tank who is an orc.

Warborn Chieftain

The Warborn Chieftain is an offensive tank who deals four melee damage and has three speed and seven health. His abilities of Shield and Phase grant him defense against physical and magic attacks. The following units are all elves that benefit from Kaylia's Bloodline Dominion buff.

Grove Doomblade

Grove Doomblade is my sneak attacker who deals a huge five melee damage. She has a disadvantage on her low speed stat but she can hit slow enemy units and does a lot of damage when she does.

Arcane Skinwalker

Arcane Skinwalker is counted as an elf because of its Shapeshift ability. It deals two magic damage and has decent defense with four armor and five health.

Silverleaf Warlock

The Silverleaf Warlock deals two magic damage and has the Swiftness ability, adding speed to the whole team. It helps compensate for Grove Doomblades slowness.

Fina Voxom

The Gladiator and star card. It deals four melee damage at the start but she has abilities that complement her role as a damage dealer. She Opportunity to target the weakest enemy unit and she has Piercing so that her damage will go through armor. Coupled with her Bloodlust ability, she can eliminate enemy units in one hit.

Silverleaf Mage

The Silverleaf Mage deals three range damage and has the Taunt ability to draw attacks away from my tank and other damage dealers. She has great defense that complements her role as a Taunt unit.

The enemy team didn't use Quora but chose Katrelba Gobson as his Gladiator card. It's low health guarantees that it will be a target of my Fina.

My units eliminated the enemy Taunt unit first and then Grove Doomblade dispatched Virid Venomancer. Afterwhich, Fina hunted the enemy's Katrelba Gobson and triggered her Bloodlust ability. The battle was won after that.

In the next battle, I used the same team except for Bren Palesworn taking the place of Arcane Skinwalker and Aranduriel instead of Silverleaf Mage.

The enemy team has Quora as his Gladiator unit supported by a mix of Earth and Fire units since he used a dual splinter archon.

Fina was the star of this battle as she made the first kill and followed it with two more including Quora. The Execute ability added to her lethality in this battle.
