Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to my blog! Our guild just finished our latest brawl. Today's post is about our results, the rewards we earned and my purchase and opening of Gladiator cases.

Performance and Guild Rank

I had a great brawl, winning seven battles out of nine. I earned 89 SPS and 5,700 SPS. The rewards are much higher than last week's.

Our guild still placed fourth in the brawl but we earned more points this week with 330 points compared to 189 points last week. We earned 110 crowns which we can use to upgrade our guild buildings. Upgrading buildings give members benefits like a glint and SPS multiplier in won battles.

Gladius Case Purchase

I have over 7k Merits which I used to buy three Gladius cases. Each Gladius case contain five cards with one guaranteed rare or higher. That means I’ll be adding fifteen new cards to my deck for boosting and upgrading my lineup.

Fifteen new cards but still there's no legendary or epic cards. I got four rare cards though.

Featured Battle

Shades of Gray

The battle had the Shades of Gray ruleset. Good thing I recently bought neutral cards. Ulundin Overseer is a beefy tank that I used in this battle. Behind him are two units with Shapeshift ability. Arcane Skinwalker and Bren Palesworn both benefit from the archon's Bloodline Dominion ability, Execute. For my Gladiator card, I have the legendary Tatiana Blayde who can use her dual attack from afar with the Super Sneak ruleset. Finally I had the Halfling Refugee in the last position to guard against Sneak attackers.

The enemy team also had Tatiana Blayde but used her in the first position. His other units were a mix of ranged and magic damage dealers. I had the better units and team combination in this battle and won.

Collateral Damage - All Units Have Reckless

All units in this battle had the Reckless debiliation. My strategy was to choose units with high health and attack. This way, they can eliminate the enemy faster while increasing their survivability. I had Commander Slade in front. He deals four melee damage and has six armor and nine health on defense. In position two, I had the versatile Night Reaper. It deals three magic damage and has an armor and ten health for survivability. In position three I had the Iron Wing Juggernaut. It doesn't attack but absorbs the Reckless damage from adjacent units. Next I had Flagulon Reine as my Gladiator card. She deals two magic attacks and has the Burst ability for maximum damage. In last position I had a three mana unit Mar Toren Traden who has the Headwinds ability.

The enemy team had the legendary Lorkus as archon. His first and second position are also made up of beefy units. Infernal Firestorm has five armor and nine health while dealing two magic damage and his Gladiator card, Chimney Wallstop deals five melee damage and has three armor and nine health. His last two units are ranged damage dealers and were debuffed by my Mar Toren Trader.

My units had more defense and deal more damage. Also, I had five units against his four. I had all the advantages in this battle and took the victory.

Quora - Venomancer Combo

The next battle is the easiest. I used my Quora Towershead and Virid Venomancer combo. I wrote a post about the many advantages of this combo. In summary, Venomancer grants Quora the Shield ability. This gives her another layer of defense as it decreases physical attacks.

The enemy team had Katrelba Gobson for his Gladiator card. It triggered its Bloodlust ability twice but when it came to a one on one fight against Quora, my card proved her superiority.

Final Thoughts

The brawl had a nice haul this time. I'm frustrated with my bad luck when it comes to Gladiator cases and not getting any legendary for weeks. I just have to keep playing since it's both fun and rewarding. I'll get those legendaries one of these days. That's it for this brawl, thanks for reading and see you in the next report!
