Splinterlands End of Season: Rank 28 in Gold League and Three New Legendary Cards!

Hello Splinterlands summoners and welcome back to my blog!
Modern season has just concluded. I had a good season finishing in Gold League and landing in rank 28of the Gold League. As a result, I earned a bonus of 25k Glints! I didn't play much in the Frontier this season since I have already maxed out my cards in there. I hope new cards will come soon.

By the end of the season, I have close to 250k glints to spend. I bought some alchemy potions and two legendary chests.
Legendary Cards Purchase
Like the previous season I will spend my glints to buy three legendary reward chests. I'm building my legendary line up and the legendary reward chest is the easiest way to get them. Unfortunately, they are very expensive at 70k glints each so I can only afford three. First, I bought alchemy potions to increase my chances of getting gold foils. I appreciate the 5% discount I got from our guild building.

Finally I got Azhar Ibn Sulaim! I have been waiting for this card to land in my collection. He's a great Taunt unit complemented by his high speed stats and great defense. I want him at level two where his speed increases to eight and he gains the Backfire ability that goes well Taunt.

The other card I got, Chuma Marandu gets levelled up to two. He gains the Demoralize ability that decrease the enemy's melee attack. I like abilities like this that affects the whole team whether allies or enemies.
These new legendary cards powered up my collection and I'm ready for the next season.
Featured Battle

Following my post on predicting your enemy's cards the other day, this is one such battle where I effectively used Earth to counter the enemy's magic team. Quilliun Legionnary took the tank position. His Void ability decreases magic attacks received. Then I had Thanalorian Blade, Grove Doomblade and Bren Palesworn demolish the enemy's back rank where his damage dealers were positioned. The ruleset included Noxious Fumes so I had the Frontier card Time Bandit join. His Cleanse ability is crucial in this battle. Finally, I had huge magic damage dealer Forlorn Geomant. His five magic damage per turn help decrease the enemy's health.
The enemy had a magic team with a two tank combo in front. His magic attacks were nerfed by my archon and my tank's Void. Further, the ruleset included Weak Magic which meant that magic attacks cannot penetrate armor. Overall, the battle was hugely in my favor and I capitalized on my advantage to win.
