The Splinterlands collaboration with mobile crypto payment Electroneum was announced in the recent town hall. Now more details came out with this post from the Splinterlands team. This comes with exciting developments and I'll share my thoughts about these in today's post.

What is Electroneum 2.0

From the website, Electroneum began as a crypto that can be mined with an Android phone. Now it transitioned to a crypto focused on mobile payments using its ETN token.

ElectroFox, the First Dual Use Card

The main draw of this collab is the ElectroFox legendary card. It can be bought using Credits.

The ElectroFox a Fire card that deals four melee damage, has five speed and eight health. It can strike from anywhere with its Opportunity ability. True to its name, it has the Electrified debilitation from level one. It has the Inspire ability to increase melee attack of the team and it also has Painforge that will increase its attack each time it's poisoned, burned, electrified or hit by an ally.

Being a dual use card, it can be staked on land to earn EVP, which can be used to buy reward chests.

EVP Generation

Level 1 → 5 EVP/hour
Level 2 → 15 EVP/hour
Level 3 → 30 EVP/hour
Level 4 → 60 EVP/hour

Reward Chests

Minor Chest — 300 EVP
Major Chest — 1,000 EVP
Ultimate Chest — 3,500 EVP
Omega Chest — 10,000 EVP

For Players without Land

For players without land, this is the time to start. There will be land bundles that can purchased but details are still not announced. There are three bundles to choose from.

• A La Carte
• Base Bundle
• Premium Grain Bundle

ETN Rewards

ETN is the native token of the Electroneum blockchain that can be used for mobile payments or traded in exchanges. Twenty thousand ($20,000) dollars worth of ETN will be available to be mined on land in the near future.

Buy an ElectroFox card in Splinterlands, stake it on your land, and earn Electroneum Voltage Points (EVP) over time. You can then spend EVP in the Rewards Shop to unlock chests with prizes, including ETN.

The system creates a “real rewards loop”: card sales fund ETN purchases, that ETN is added back into the game world and players mine and earn it through gameplay.

Final Thoughts

The collaboration is yet another exciting development by the Splinterlands team. The good thing about this is the possibility of attracting Electroneum users into Splinterlands thereby increasing new players. For Splinterlands players, this means a new collectible card that can be used for core gameplay as well as land. There's also the chance to earn ETN tokens through gameplay.
