Grund: The Double-Strike Beast of the Earth Splinter

avatar

Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!

Grund is an Epic Earth unit from the Chaos Legion set. He is a powerful melee fighter who costs 10 mana and specializes in dealing massive damage through his abilities: Double Strike and Trample. Grund is one of the most dangerous tanks in the Earth splinter because his Double Strike ability lets him attack twice per turn. Combined with Trample, he can eliminate multiple enemies in a single round.

Lore

Grund has spent his entire life in the lowlands of Praetoria, where he developed a deep love for both the land and its people. Fascinated by combat from an early age, he mastered swordsmanship after discovering an abandoned blade in the swamp and later trained with countless other weapons. His encounter with the legendary warrior Bera Dallin led him to become an expert with warhammers, eventually wielding two at once thanks to his immense strength. Respected for his honor and unwavering sense of justice, Grund quickly answered the call to battle when the Chaos Legion invaded Praetoria.

Stats and Abilities

Grund is an epic, ten mana tank that has high offensive abilities. At maxed level, he deals four melee damage and has three speed. He has thirteen health to last in battles. His offensive abilities are impressive. He combines Double Strike and Trample to enable him to destroy enemies quickly and can even damage multiple enemies in a single round. He gains Cripple ability at maxed level, decreasing his target's maxed health at every hit he lands.

Featured Battle

In this battle, player dproberts999 had Grund in his team. The team he fielded was very strong, led by a maxed level archon Underboss Fabino. He gave Grund an additional two melee damage raising his damage potential to twelve each round. He had Folen Flameye in the tank position. His Flank ability allow Grund who was in second position to attack with melee. In third, he had a very strong Buttercup Mauler. She deals seven melee damage and has Sneak ability that will wreck the enemy rear position. In fourth, he had a maxed level Thanalorian Blade. In fifth, he had Mahkah Hemlig who deals three magic damage. Finally, he had Silverleaf Mage who has Taunt.

His enemy was me. I used my usual Earth team led by Kaylia Silverleaf archon and mostly elf units. My tank was Quilliun Legionnary who was a decent tank but terribly overmatched by Grund. My team was composed mostly of elf units and my highest damage dealer, Forlorn Geomant who deals five magic damage. Overall, dproberts999 team had a huge advantage in terms of damage potential. I was simply overmatched because his team synergy was as good as mine.
