I Tried Using ChatGPT to Materialise What My Tent-Making Ministry Premise Might Look Like

Lately I have been having this urge... and thought

If I have the resources and time in the world and want to pursuit a Ministry calling for God, what would it be?

Based on what God has placed unto my hands, it would most likely be something related to the people I am involved with, the skill, and the handed down deeply-hidden gene that I never thought I could slowly train myself into...

But it is also something I am not entirely fond of doing as well...

Then again, the flesh always disagrees with the Spirit. 😅

But...

if I really would want to do a ministry, it would have been a space to commune

A safe and warm place for learning, extending communications...

...and food

It could be a home setting unit, a lighthouse to gather likeminded individuals who wants space to heal, grow, and fed.

It could also be a shop unit, a single space, that allows people to come together, but it is n̳o̳t̳ ̳l̳i̳k̳e̳ a daily retail area.

I had this image kept in my mind for many months now and I just can't shake it off (because I plainly do not have the resources to do so)

But like @macchiata shared with me during this meetup from her #hivefest visit: What if we just need to step out?

We can even incorporate HIVE onboarding as well because this space can be anything where people come together

Since I can't get it out of my head, I have decided to use ChatGPT (A.I.) to help me to visualise how I want it be.

I can say that it does look a lot like what I wanted, but when I looked at its practicality (because I want to use it as other things as well) I might need to tweak it a little more

So I started with:

can you draft me an interior design of a 10ft wide x 12 ft wide x 12 ft height living room, with windows at one side of the 10ft width wall, into a kitchen dining experience with the center island counter that fits at least 8 high chairs around, with wall mount kitchen cabinets, American fridge, 4 stove oven and a 2 large sink at the side?

What it replied:

Got it 👍 — before I generate a visual plan (floor layout and 3D concept), I just want to clarify a few details so the design fits perfectly into your proportions and style.

Here’s what I have so far, based on your request:
Room dimensions
Overall space: 10 ft (width) × 12 ft (length) × 12 ft (height)
Windows: Located on one of the 10 ft walls (you didn’t specify size, so I’ll assume roughly 6 ft wide × 4 ft tall, centered on that wall)

Requested layout
Convert living room into a kitchen + dining experience
Central island counter to seat 8 high chairs
Wall-mounted kitchen cabinets
American fridge
4-stove oven
Double (2 large) sink

A design that remains functional within a 120 sq. ft. space

Questions before I generate the design image:

1. Style preference – Do you want a specific aesthetic?
(e.g., modern minimal, Scandinavian, industrial loft, coastal white, warm wood tone, etc.)

2. Counter shape – Should the center island be rectangular, L-shaped, or U-shaped?

3. Windows wall – Do you want the sink placed near the window (common in many kitchens)?

4. Appliance wall – Would you prefer the fridge and oven on the same wall, or separated for symmetry?

5. Color palette – Any preferred tones? (e.g., white with black accents, warm beige with oak, matte gray steel)

6. Flooring – Would you like wood, tile, or polished concrete?

It is really interesting how the A.I. is intelligently asking questions so that it can function well enough to submit a render that is closes to what I needed.

I even uploaded a sample of what I liked, along with requests for some indoor plants, before I allow it to generate a render

And this is what I got:

Warm theme on the left, Cool theme on the right

What it generated was impressively close to what I was envisioning! It isn't perfect, but it is surprisingly nicely done to tell me whether it this sort of layout is realistic enough or not.

Which reminds me that I might need to tweak a bit. But if the prompting is accurate and good, it does turn out really well.

I might actually prefer to have a giant wall fridge, like the sample image for more things to keep instead....

But for 120 sq ft, it may be a little tight, but definitely still doable.

Now that I began to learn more about how A.I can assist me further besides helping me to compile my studies (whenever I get 3 months of spare time to pursuit), this tool is definitely useful, but we must not 100% rely on it as if it is set on stone.

What do you think?

Do you think this is a great quick tool to envision what you want for architecture purposes, or this is too non-humanistic approach and ID architecture industry will be affected if these artificial intelligence surpasses human touch?

This post is partly dedicated to @leestra-life (Leestra Lifestyle) for my niece who is currently studying and learning ID

Should I safely say that one day you'll have your own ministry calling? 😁
But I must say your knowledge to use the chatGPT is getting better

What an interesting concept. Creating a place just for gatherings? It doesn't look like a walk in restaurant, but a private function?
