Trying Out "Odor Nullifier" Via Dryer Balls. Does it work?

It has been quite a while since I have written and #TriedNTested posts like I used to, and probably this is one of those times that I should get this back into momentum just to keep improving my skill of writing.

Previously I actually have written a review about the dryer balls I first acquainted last year, and to my amazement (although I lost one of them along the way) this is actually quite effective a durable method to quicken the drying process and reduce my expenses of longer drying time.

However, with the load getting bigger due to the fact the hot weather has caused the household to change their clothes more often because of the sweat, the fragrance from the detergent and softener capsules can’t entirely mask the lingering body odor, especially when I don’t have a proper place to use the free energy the sun, to dry it.

I often wonder why wouldn’t high rise provide a special "drying area" where residents can just use the natural resources? Is it because it may make the place look "more run down" because it can be really untidy or because the high rise is too high up, the wind might take it out?

I digress!

These are the days when I miss staying in landed property with open space where I can sun my clothes. 😌 🌅

After having a chat with my colleague who used to stay in UK and she was the one who recommended me using dryer balls at the first place, reminded me that I can actually use essential oils on the dryer balls so that it will permeate the fragrance of the essential oil to the clothes while drying.

I also learned from @fusion.lover previously that eucalyptus can help nullify odor and clear the air, which worked with my room using eucalyptus spray ; so thinking that this could help nullify the lingering "old clothes" odor will disappear.

However, eucalyptus can be a little strong and many may not like it, that’s why I ended up getting an Eau de toilette that will lessen the strength of the eucalyptus strong herbal scent. I sprayed quite a few squirts in each ball, with 2 dapped with eucalyptus essence oil, and 3 with the eau de toilette.

I was afraid that it may be a little overpowering but since it was a huge 20kg load of clothes, I think it didn’t make the entire load smelling like perfume, while leaving a trail of faint scent. I however noticed that when using this method, the body odor trailed scent has greatly reduced and my colleague's suggested hack might have really worked.

How about you?

Do you have the privilege of free energy from the sun to dry your clothes, or do you still need to use a dryer to dry up your clothes?

I personally do not own my own washing machine and dryer simply because my place is too small with 3 people staying. If I add those on there will be no place to walk, and moreover, my electric bill may have shot up like a "bull market" 📈 😅 because my seniors possesses no self-control of water usage restrictions due to lifestyle differences of cheap village expenditure and expensive urban charges.

Until Then
