I know the feeling!
I used to work at a computer shop and one of the other techs would always change the motherboard first!
He used to say... "A new motherboard will xure a lot of ills"!
Luckily yours was just a switch - though something like that can be the hardest to find!

Lol, if i hadn't seen that window pop up for a split second, i probably would have eventually changed the motherboard...and then been really frustrated when I got the exact sam results. Then i would have been looking for a standoff in the wrong spot or something thinking it was a short...then I would have been looking for an exorcist.
