Wake - Build - Sleep - Repeat
I injured my knee skateboarding last Saturday and decided to take it easy for a couple of weeks! This means very little walking, lots of rest and even more building!
It's been quite some time since I had to stay inside due to an injury, and staying home all day for the past 5 days made me realize how much time I'm "losing" outside skateboarding haha! Not losing actually. What I wanna say is that I've been skating A LOT the past few months and took a few steps back from the computer. These stay-in days helped me realize how much I missed it haha!
But what am I up to? Let's take things one by one.
Building Skatehive with the homies
We've been exchanging a lot of ideas as a community lately in the Skatehive Discord on different topics like skatehive.app improvements, new app ideas and feedback, DeFi stuff, new contests and more. I'm loving the passion and energy from everyone!
OG users still here providing feedback, new users hyped to learn more about the Skatehive network and more or less everyone contributes to shaping the way Skatehive moves forward!
Here are some cool community updates from the past few days:
- Did a clean-up in the Skatehive Treasury check this discord announcement
- Launched Skatehive Leaderboard airdrop function
- Skate spots map and Community Mag UI updates
- Joined Octant's Farcaster RetroPGF Round
- and more
Shoutout to all the awesome people taking time to build Skatehive!
Always feels like home when contributing to Skatehive! But hey, I'm also doing one more cool thing… building @epirus.dao!
The very first Epirus DAO event is official
As I've mentioned in my previous post, for the last few months I've been building @epirus.dao from the ground up with a bunch of fellow Greeks! Epirus DAO’s goal is simple: adoption of blockchain tech. And to get things started we're organizing our very first event!
Introducing "Blockchain Ioannina" Event
Learn more about the event and book your spot 👉 https://epirusdao.com/blockchain-ioannina-event/
Taking place on June 18 at JOIST Innovation Space and featuring 4 speakers from all parts of the web3 universe, this event aims to explain how blockchain works and its proven impact in the real world as simply as possible! Yeap, most of the audience are web3 "virgins" hehe!
Meet the speakers
Yeap, that's me at the bottom right haha! My topic's title is "Skatehive: From the streets to the blockchain," and I'm going to explain how Skatehive actively empowers the skateboarding community and how it has positively affected the lives of hundreds of skaters worldwide!
I'm a bit anxious about this, but I think I got it haha! Besides, the event’s focus is to give our audience a "feel" of web3, so I'll just stick to the basics and I think I'll do just fine haha!
Also looking for a web3 Job
I stopped working as a social media/content manager for DAOBase.ai in February (was there for 1.5 years) and decided I wanted a break so I just took it easy for the last 3 months. But now it's time to get back on track!
I've built a nice degen resume and I've been applying to some web3 jobs I like for the last couple of weeks! Only got 1 response out of 4 applications so far, negative unfortunately, but that's life I guess haha!
Remote web3 jobs have been reduced a lot since the last time I was looking for one (Sept-Nov 2023), and this makes me wonder if all positions are covered, if projects are "squeezing" their employees to cover more than one role or if there's just not as much funding and money in the space as a couple of years ago!
Anyways, I'll figure this shit out! Having no job means I get to spend more time on Hive and building Skatehive and Epirus DAO so that's cool!
Weekend Loading
Since I can't skate (can't wait to skate again haha), I'm going to spend my weekend the same way I spent my week: building, and also hanging out with @illusivelf and my friends! I need this weekend to be chill cause next week is going to be hectic!
Wake - Build - Sleep - Repeat
That's the moto
