I wonder if it would be better to make these famous nuggets into limited edition coins, say if the 'Welcome Stranger' is processed yielding 2,060 1 Troy oz. gold coins, that would potentially have a heck of a collector premium.

Good point! I actually got one of these on way, but I picked “Random Year”.
That would have been cool, but back then I'm sure it got smelted and turned into coins or jewelry. They didn't realize the historical significance of what they had found nor the future value. It's hard to blame them, the poor guys were dirt poor until they found the nugget!
