Why feel pity for someone who stole our dreams, our hopes? Why feel pity for a person who took away your childhood, your youth? He took away from more than half of Venezuelans the chance to see their families together, the opportunity for many mothers to see their children grow up, and he took away from many families the chance to say a final goodbye to their loved ones.

I don't feel pity seeing him handcuffed and imprisoned. He deserves that and much more. My heart holds no hatred; I only want justice, justice for those who were vilely murdered and who will never see the light of day again. How can one feel pity for a being whose hands are stained with blood?
