I tried doing something similar, out of a Instagram clip on how to 'reveal' film using your phone. Unfortunately it didn't pan out as I thought. The effect never quite worked as advertised. So I ended up using my phone AI assistant to enhance the picture and was able to make some renewal from the original.

I know there are ways to do that sort of thing with a regular camera (see https://www.scantips.com/es-1.html). Seems like something similar could work with a phone but it seems like it would be harder to get good results.
