It's a beautiful Wednesday, and I will be sharing my view with you on what I title "The Sin Of Selfishness". I would advise you to go through this write-up so that you can have a better understanding of what selfishness is.

The word selfishness refers to the act of considering yourself first as a priority before others, and the Bible records it as a sin.

Selfishness, according to scripture, is a sin that bleeds. The Bible asked us to empty ourselves to save others.

Selfishness is very bad, and people shouldn't exhibit such virtue. Lot in the bible was a selfish man. His selfishness was revealed when he chose the best of the land of Jordan and gave the one that seemed unfertile to Abraham.

Saul, as we all know in the bible, exhibited selfishness. But his was that of selfishness and disobedience. He spared Agag, even when he was instructed not to spare in Sodom and Gomora.

Because of this sinful and selfish act, Saul lost his crown, including the head that wore it.
Christians, in particular, are not supposed to be selfish in any way.

It depicts a high level of irresponsibility. Those who are called after God ought to be responsible.
I've talked about those who exhibited this virtue and the rewards they got from their selfishness.

It pays to live a selfless and sacrificial life. See your needs as secondary, and other people's needs as primary. Even our Lord Jesus Christ lived a selfless life while he was on earth.

He saw others better than himself. Throughout his earthly ministry, he was putting smiles on people's faces.

He provided bread for the hungry people. He, too, was hungry, but he had to push it aside and attend to his people.

He did all those things out of love, not for his selfish interest.

We, as his followers, must imitate him and not the other way around.

In Conclusion, the sin of selfishness kills faster and chases people away from us. So we must be careful not to be selfish in everything we do.
