Un elogio de mi madre - las palabras tienen poder (esp/eng)
Es viernes y me he dado cuenta que todo lo que va el año me he dejado crecer los pelos de la cara, siempre me los quito cuando tengo alguna cita o voy a bailar, pero como este año no he salido casi nada pues no ha habido la ocasión para sacarme estos pelos de la cara y es la primera vez que me los dejo crecer tanto.
Pero algo extraño ocurrió ayer mientras comía en casa de mi madre, ella me dijo, te ves lindo hijo y a pesar que varias personas me lo han dicho, ayer lo sentí por primera vez, un elogio de mi madre me elevo mi autoestima por lo que hoy decidi por primera vez hacerme una sesión fotográfica con estos pelos que cargo en mi cara.
Las palabras tienen poder, asi que analiza siempre lo que le dices a otros, quizás puedas lograr un cambio en ellos.
Igual me quitaré los pelos de la cara eventualmente pero por lo menos ahora se que si me los dejo será por voluntad propia y no por sentirme atrapado.
It's Friday, and I've realized that I've been letting my facial hair grow all year. I always remove it when I have a date or go dancing, but since I haven't gone out much this year, there hasn't been an opportunity to remove it, and it's the first time I've let it grow this long.
But something strange happened yesterday while I was eating at my mother's house. She told me, "You look handsome, son," and even though several people have told me that, yesterday I felt it for the first time. A compliment from my mother boosted my self-esteem, so today I decided to have a photoshoot with this facial hair for the first time.
Words have power, so always think about what you say to others; you might be able to change them.
I'll still remove the facial hair eventually, but at least now I know that if I let it grow, it will be by choice and not because I feel trapped.
