My favorites from Ashlee Simpson (esp/eng) - Three Tune Tuesday - Week 257

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time to bring you my top 3 music picks, and this time I want to feature an artist who is no longer heard due to a cancellation years ago, but who at the time made great songs that I listened to and still listen to today.
This is my entry for the activity organized by @ablaze.
From the moment the beats start, I'm transported back to my teenage years. How I loved this song! The part where the vocals are higher fascinates me, and I always end up singing along and jumping. I feel like this music is rebellious; it tells us that it wants us to do something and act a certain way, but the singer says she'll do whatever she wants, wherever she wants.
Boyfriend
This song was one of the first I saw from this artist and I was mesmerized. The video was so much fun for me back then, and I've always liked that rebellious side of her. I love rock sounds, and the way she mixes them with pop makes this song even more fun. It's a rhythm I simply can't ignore; I love it. As for the lyrics, they're great because she says she didn't steal any boyfriends, that the relationship was already over. I like the song's boldness.
L.O.V.E.
As always, I've saved my favorite song by this singer for last. I don't know how to express how much I love this song. I remember when I was younger and I listened to it all the time. My niece would sing it because she learned it from hearing her sing it constantly, but it always made me laugh that she'd make up indecipherable words to keep up with the rhythm. Ugh, it's one of my favorite songs in the world. I understand that this song is about love, about loving yourself and moving on from toxic relationships. While writing this post, I was singing it at the top of my lungs, and it reminded me how much I still love this song.
These are my three songs for this Tuesday. I hope you enjoy them.

She was pretty much not involved in any of the writing for her three albums, esp the first two, but I always liked this track that Good Charlotte wrote for her with producer John Feldman! & u picked that one as opener! Lala!
Not throwing shade at her, but just being honest, I was 19 when her mtv “reality” show came out and most the producers already had these songs written and she isn’t a song writer, as is with the pop world at that time, but I did follow her a little and paid attention to her producers, a few of which were producing a lot of the pop punk bands on major labels in 2000’s. It’s so crazy all the weird stuff that came out about her dad in those days, the industry is crazy!
