Charnel Pit Instead of Tarantula Loom in Soulkeep
When I started playing Soulkeep, I started like any new player, following the tutorial step by step. The game always recommended a tower called the Tarantula Loom, which is essential in the early stages. It worked well at first, slowing down enemies thanks to its power, but honestly, I didn't feel it was powerful enough against large waves, especially when you entered stages with heavy Fiends.
I tried several methods, and every now and then I thought maybe the problem was mine, or maybe I needed to increase the number of towers, but performance was always average, and I would either lose the final wave by accident or never finish it at all.
Until I decided to give a chance to a tower I'd always found a bit terrifying at first: the Charnel Pit. I decided to try it in the final wave maybe it would make a difference. And sure enough, once I placed it in the right place and I felt like the world had completly changed.
The Fiends couldn't even get close to the tower. Everyone who came out found themselves being killed and literally eaten. This tower didn't just attack as it swallowed fiends with terrifying speed. Indeed, in just seconds, I was able to take down the final wave without having to do anything else and losing any hearts.
At that moment, I thought to myself: This is the tower I've been looking for Since then, I've relied on the Charnel Pit in more than one matchup especially against Fiends and the results are always very satisfying.
And the coolest part? The Charnel Pit doesn't require many towers to be built near it. It does a lot of work on its own as I felt like all the mana I was wasting on upgrades and additional towers, I could now save and use more intelligently. Ultimately, when you start thinking outside the box and breaking the routine, the game opens up new opportunities you hadn't even considered.
