What's A Man To Do...?

This is going to be a slight rant about my church....

And while I mean my local church at first, I'm actually talking about the global church as well. So please understand, I'm not picking on any one else's denomination tonight. This is strictly pointing the finger at me, myself and I...The church I am a member of.

We really like to parade ourselves around!

It's almost prideful at times. We're the church that is spoken of in Revelation 12:17. The remnant! Oh boy, we LOVE to let the world know...

And while I truly believe in our doctrine and all our fundamental beliefs, my biggest issue these days is how we treat our current members....More specifically, the men within our body.

Let me explain....

I'm in a very unique position. I get to interact with fellow believers on a daily basis. Which I'm soooo grateful for :)

And with that, I usually end up talking to people about books, bibles and bible studies. In our history we have been big on publishing. Literature plays a huge role in our evangelism strategies and has since the church was officially formed in 1863. We were once known as the...People of the Book.

We have some amazing authors and something the church does each and every year is produce daily devotionals for the church members to purchase and read throughout the year. We have morning devotionals, evenings devotionals, woman's devotionals, children's devotionals and teenager devotionals.....

But guess what we never seem to produce?

Men's devotionals. Like....Ever.

And if you know the bible and the way God sets up the family unit, the father and man of the house is kind of important. He's to lead his family to God and be a protector for them. But here we are....The remnant...Essentially ignoring our men.

This really hit me today too....

I was thinking about why there has never been any men's devotionals produced recently, and then a fellow church member literally taps me on the shoulder and says....How come there is no men's devotionals being produced by the church?

Yeah.....God was stirring my heart, and I know He was trying to get my attention.

Look, I'm a nobody in the church. Just a guy that pays his tithes and reads a LOT. But I think I need to do soemthing. And here's the kicker....

We don't even do any men's ministry locally. There's plenty of woman's ministries within the church. They have meetings, get aways and all sorts of amazing programs developed for the women in our church.

But for men....Absolutely nothing.

Maybe it's just my local church, but globally I just don't see a big emphasis on men's ministries.

So what can I do?

Again, I'm a nobody in the church. Just a humble servant. But this is bugging me....Like it's causing me to write this blog post at 10pm on a weekday lol But I need to do something. And I'm praying to God that He shows me a way to being more attention to the need for ministry to our men and fathers within our church body.

Anywho....Thanks for reading my rant. I'm not angry or upset, just concerned that we aren't taking care of our own....And if we don't, you have to believe the world will try to...

It could be important for men to find resources that directly address their spiritual paths and roles in leadership.

Man is the center of the universe, or at least of his own universe. When you lose consciousness, the world disappears.

Men's ministry is very important too as well as woman's ministry. The thing is that, sometimes women seems to be more committed in ministry than men do. I don't know if that is the case in your location church there 🤔

God is here speaking to you from this perspective to gather men for something serious in the kingdom.

Maybe, a Bible reading Walk out for men only.
Bible reading as an interactive series for men on a certain timeline, maybe during a certain holiday time that they will have the chance to attend.... Think through these.
