Top 5 Books Of 2025

tgg5.png

Disclaimer: All these books were not released in 2025. In fact, two of the authors of them have actually passed away. One of them, almost 100 years ago. But they were my favorite books out of the 34 that I read last year!

34 books!

Yeah I had the goal this time last year to get around 26 books read. My average was going to be around 1 book every 2 weeks. Welp.....

So I didn't even plan out my 'list' well enough for all the books I ended up reading because I needed to go BACK on a page and write the remaining ones...

Some of them were short books. Others were literal college text books. And you'll notice I ended up reading multiple books from the same author a few times. But overall, I had a blast in the pages last year. So I thought it would be fun to go over my top 5 books that I read in 2025 :)

Hope you enjoy it!

1. American Apocalypse by Dwight K. Nelson

I was in church earlier in the year one Sabbath, and the preacher was actually a professor from a local college. He couldn't stop raving about this book, so on Monday I ran over and grabbed a copy of it at my store.

This book goes over Revelation 13 and how America fits perfectly as the sea beast of that chapter. It's eye opening and shocking, but I couldn't put it down. If you want to see what's ahead in this world's history, this is the book to read!

2. Evangelism by Ellen G. White

Not breaking news but I'm unapologetically a Seventh Day Adventist. And that means, I read a lot of Ellen G White's writings. Even though she passed away over 100 years ago, her writings have been translated and published more than any other female American author.

This was her book on how to evangelize the gospel. Tactfully. Lovingly.

What an experience!! At well over 700 pages long, this was like going to college!

3. Bible Translations For Everyone by Tim Wildsmith

As you guys know, I love to collect and review bibles. And there's a few guys on YouTube that have become the kings of bible reviews and Tim is one of them.

This book followed his mission to find a bible that was right for you, and he goes over some fascinating history of how we got all of our popular english translations of God's word. Eye opening stuff for sure, and a great read for bible nerds like yours truly!

4. Commentary on the Book of Daniel by Norman McNulty

There are a TON of bible commentaries out there. And of course, you will always gravitate towards a commentary from your own denomination. That's fair and understandable. And while the bulk of these can feel like the only way to understand it is if you had a PHd in Theology, Norman's book on Daniel is absolutely brilliant!

It goes over this prophetic book, verse by verse and chapter by chapter. But not complicating things at all. It's so easy to read and follow. If you are looking for a brilliant book on the prophecies found in Daniel, this is a must read!

5. The 144,000 by Marvin Moore

What sucks is that I started reading Marvin's books and learned that he had just passed away. Thankfully he left behind some of the most intriguing and interesting books on the bible ever.

I read a lot of his stuff in 2024 and 2025, but the 144,000 was my favorite by far. Such an awesome book that goes over the age old question....Are the 144,000 a literal number, or symbolic?

So good!!

A little bit of prophecy, a little bit of evangelistic training and one on bible translations....

Like I said, I read a LOT last year but when push came to shove, these were my top books of 2025.

The new year has begun and I'm already 200 pages into the latest book I'm reading lol

I think it is always enlightening to explore different perspectives on books.
