The Trap Of All Traps

We're coming to the end of our #kingdomproverbs series with a handful of verses yet to go over....

This has been such a rewarding experience for me personally as it's allowed me to open up my favoite book in the #bible which is Proverbs. One of the reasons I love this book so much is that it's not too 'preachy'. When some of agnostic and atheist friends ask me about Scripture and why I love God so much, I usually tell them to check out Proverbs. It's what I love to call the greatest personal development book in history!

A biblical 'art of war' per se! And there is so many amazing things to learn within it's pages. So as we are winding down this series, expect more Proverbs posts in the future. It's a pretty cool little book that was written around 3000 years ago :)

Anywho.....

What's the verse of the day for the graphic...

Oh boy....

This is a hard one for men around the world. I'm sure women deal with it just as much, but I can tell you from personal experience, this one can be absolutely deadly.

Here's what the King James Version reads:

Avoid. Sensual. Traps.

This is one of the first verses that I have seen that ties in directly with God's 10 commandment. And that's the seventh found in Exodus 20. Do not commit adultery. So yeah, while the Proverbs man or woman might not be married, this can still lead to the destruction of your soul because....Not only does it create lust in the heart, but it kind of sort of breaks another commandment of God's.....Lust can create an idol.

And I'm not sure if you have been paying attention to the world these days but...Sex sells. Fornication, adultery, nudity, lust...These things are actually celebrated in the world we live in. And I'm not even going to talk to those that are actually in the world...I'm talking to people of faith!

This is a huge sin problem within the Christian community, and it does so much damage. From ruined marriages, to broken families, the list goes on and on.

Here is King Solomon a guy who had a wee bit of a lust problem, almost prophesying of his sinful life and warning us that even the kings of the world, fall victim to the sensual traps.

The remedy?

Philippians 4:8 for me...

Think on these things.....

Combine this scripture with a strong prayer life and you can find victory over this sin.

It's an uphill battle, and the world is designed for us to lust after the eyes....But we know how to conquer this!

It's within the pages of Scripture!

Just like you said "it is an uphill task" but as a believer when you obey the commands of God, sexual sin shouldn't be a problem.

But funny enough, this is one sin that has ruined great men and women and it is still happening every now and then as we speak.

I have some friends that are married, but still indulges in adultery,as if it a game or conquest. But the Bible says the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

When I read Proverbs 6,I began to see why SOLOMON so much stressed on it to believers;

Proverbs 6 warns against adultery, emphasizing that no compensation can satisfy a husband whose wife has been violated.

Key VersesProverbs 6:32-35 (NIV) states:

But a man who commits adultery has no sense; whoever does so destroys himself. Blows and disgrace are his lot, and his shame will never be wiped away, for jealousy arouses a husband's fury, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge. He will not accept any ransom, nor will he be willing to accept compensation, no matter how great it might be.

There is no amount of money, compensation or gift you can use to pacify a man whose wife has been slept with.Because that picture, that act, incident, that information is forever stored in is photographic memory and flashes back to him anytime he sees his wife.

For me and like I would admonish my friends, run when it comes to sexual sins.Adopt the Joseph style, when faced with such temptation.Joseph ran away when Potiphar's wife tried to seduce him.

Thank you @jongolson, for this post, may the Lord give us the grace to overcome and fulfill our destiny.Bye for now.

We can really see much in fashion. I can remembered a friend telling what really sells these days. The disheartening part as you said is that the assumed 'Christians' are the ones topping this chart. It makes it difficult to even know where to start from. The case of an unbeliever is different how do you even solve it with people that have both hardcopy and soft copy Bible. Hmmm, Lord please help us.

God is the meaning of Life… Many have denied the existence of God, but who among those can deny the existence of Life…??? And Life saw that it was good…

Translated, “ The Kingdom of God” means “The Kingdom of Life… In other words, God is the meaning of Life… Without God, we would have no Life in us…
