The Spirit Is Willing But...

While this blog post is indirectly about the events of yesterday in America, I'm doing my best to not make this political. And for one reason, and one reason only....

Ephesians 6:12 states that we aren't wrestling with flesh and blood, but against principalities and spiritual wickedness in high places. While that may not be verbatim, the verse highlights that this planet is indeed in a spiritual war.

The issue most people have when it comes to politics is that it's designed to put one group of people against another. And yeah, everything is political when you think about it....But there is something that isn't...

Seek the kingdom of God....That's the only real government I ever want to be a part of....

And the events of yesterday reminded me of the fact that this world, will end...And I really don't want to be on the losing side of things. Meaning, I need to choose this day, whom I will serve.

God.

Or man.

But the bible is clear, we can't 'serve' both. And if you read books like Revelation, you'll know when the end times come, it'll all come down with to who we decide to worship. For me, it's God above everything.

However, the bible also says....This will be one of the hardest battles we ever face. Look at what Jesus says, Christ of all people, actually says....This is a battle where the odds are stacked against us...

Oh wow, this hits....

The spirit is willing. We know we want to be endowed with the Holy Spirit. We ask for His presence. However, look what Christ says gets in our way...

The flesh.

We are a fallen race. And everything is stacked against us in this world. Crime, murder, wars, racism, death, destruction....Everywhere we turn. So how can we possibly get through this all?

I think 2 Corinthians 12:10 sums it up perfectly: Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

We can't do a thing....Without God!

So my mindset going forward, by God's grace, is that I will be dead to the world. It's ending after all. So why store my treasures here, I need to store them in heaven. Which means, serving God....Every day. Not just once a week, not just when I feel like it, it must be total surrender and a faith that is built on the Rock of ages!

If you are the praying type, I would love some prayers so that I can become a solider for Christ and turn from sin each and every day!

In this world there is a lack of empathy and respect for one's neighbor.

You bring up a strong argument about the importance of deciding who or what we support.
