The King of Fools

It's day two of our little journey through the book of Proverbs and my favorite graphic online these days....For reference again, I've pasted it below. But I won't post it on every verse we'll study.

But for today, we'll add it and go.....Counter clockwise for our next verse...

Let's take a look at the verse in it's entirety from Scripture here:

When I first saw the graphic and saw that it read that the Proverbs man (and woman) 'knows when to walk away', I had the notion that it meant to stay away from arguments and disagreements.

Which is a big chunk of that verse, because there is nothing worse than getting into arguments about petty and insignificant things. And that word 'fool' comes up a lot...And I mean a lot in the book of Proverbs.

Funny to not....Another one of my favorite graphic and meme is this....

Do you see the wisdom of Solomon???

If you deep dive into this book you'll see that he was shining a mirror at his own character and behaviour. Now remember, Solomon was the wisest king in history so....Do you see what I'm getting at?

If the king could be the 'fool' in life situations, with all his wisdom, how much more do we tend to be the foolish one mention in these verses?

I'm raising my hand because God knows....I've made a LOT of mistakes. However let's go back to that verse we are looking at....He knows when to walk away! He knows when to be humble. He knows when to 'agree to disagree'.

That's what the wise do, while the foolish will continue to drag things out, complain, critique, slander and just become more and more miserable. The lesson in this verse is to know when to just walk away.

Easier said than done, because once again....I'm the fool of fools lol

But it's such a great piece of advice. And we pray that God gives us the wisdom needed to know when to walk away and let things fall where they may. Sometimes, actually most times, you won't change the way people think and or believe. And if you do highlight the point, the push back could be ten times worse than you thought...

It's best to...Walk away :)

Note: I'm going to be using the tag #kingdomproverbs to keep track of this series and to see if it catches on. Feel free to use the tag and create posts using the graphic I'm getting these verses from. I'll make sure to curate everything I come across!

Timothy admonishes in 👇

2 Timothy 2:23
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.

Proverbs reinforces dropping disputes early, like Proverbs 17:14: "Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out." These align with walking away from unprofitable conflict.

Yeah and God knows, I need to pray about this. I'm the first one to 'continue' in debates lol

'with many words comes sin', I can't get this scriptural backing straight away but I know arguments can be very disastrous. Walking away sometimes doesn't mean your points aren't valid but its a high level of understanding. Keep arguing with a fool and you both are colleagues.

We really need to train ourselves on this because some times our emotions do over cloud our good reasonings.

King Solomon was was an excellent and exceptional human being. He controlled himself in a lot of matters

Though he finally had a colossal fall at the end but he really paved the way for a righteous living for everyone on this earth alive or dead.
