Lost

bold
I am loving the fact that my evening devotionals are helping me come up with topics to write about :)
I made a decision about a year ago, to really not 'hide' my faith on chain anymore. And write as much as I could about my walk with Jesus. So far, it's been a blessing, and no one has come with the pitchforks!!!!
I want to talk about....Being lost.
At first, some may read that in the context of Christianity and think I'm talking about damnation. And in a sense, I am, but not as I dig deeper into it.
Being 'lost' in the traditional sense is found in a quick Google search for it's definition:

Multiple meanings for the word, but I would assume the first one fits pretty much everyone's definition of it.
Unable to find one's way.
I think this is very powerful to note that in the biblical context of salvation, being lost is to cease being with God. I'm not going to get into a proof text debate for whether or not that means spending 'eternity' in the pits of hell. That's for another post :)
But being lost to a Christian, is literally being away from our Lord and Saviour, for eternity. Something I'm sure no one is trying to accomplish....
Thankfully, God lays it out for us, how to not become...Lost.
And it starts with a few tips within the pages of Scripture:
Psalms 119 verse 105 gives us a clue..."Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”"
We can get quite lost in the dark, so God shows us that the light that can illuminate our path is....Scripture! His Word!
This is so powerful to me, and it really made me stop and think about the term 'being lost' in the bible. You see, if we keep our eyes on Christ and His Scriptures, it's literally impossible for us to become lost. The path is literally laid out for us, and all we need is a little bit of faith (about the size of a mustard seed) and some blinders.
Blinders help us stay focused on Him, and His Word. The faith the size of a mustard seed, well, that's for another blog post too some day :)
Here's a crazy cool exercise to do if you want to deep dive into the 'lost' term as it relates to Scripture.
Grab your favorite concordance, and find the word 'lost' and get ready to be blown away. At first, you may think it's doom and gloom, however I see a pattern in all of this. The pattern is God is laying out the path for us to spend eternity with Him. And it's all found in the pages of Scripture.
Keep your eyes on Him...

Thanks for your continuous support @jongolson 🦁
The idea of being 'lost' is really deep, particularly when seen from the perspective of Scripture.
"I made a decision about a year ago, to really not 'hide' my faith on chain anymore. And write as much as I could about my walk with Jesus. So far, it's been a blessing, and no one has come with the pitchforks!!!!"
When I saw the above statement by you @jongolson, this portion of the Bible flashed into my memory;
Mark 8:38. It states that whoever is ashamed of Jesus and His words in this sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of that person when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels. So I would say as you continue to walk with Christ, Blessings in all ramifications shall be your portion.
And thanks 🙏 for the topic "being lost",
It calls for sober reflection and for believers to know that without Christ we are nothing spiritually.
Some people are really lost in Christ. Let me put it that way and the only way to have a good life is by being deep in Christ
I made a decision about a year ago, to really not 'hide' my faith on chain anymore, you've made a life changing move friend. Opening up yourself to announce Christ means he will also announce you to His father on that day.
I had to re-read Ps 119:105, very inspirational, thanks so much friend.
