God Over Man

I had a revelation of sorts over the past 24 hours or so...

As some of you may know, a few times a year I go on a 3 week road trip for my offline job. While on the road, I'm either driving or serving my community along the way. Which means, I don't really open up my 'online life' per se.

No threads.

No blockchain.

No social media.

And on Sunday, my trip was started and for the entire day, I never even opened my social media apps at all. Until late last night.....

And as soon as I do, I'm made notice of another act of terrorism in America. Someone drove their truck into a church, and started shooting the place up. Multiple fatalities and even more people hurt.

Just utter madness.

And while I know I can never 'block out all the negative noise' from the world, it was a revelation for me to shut things out. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying if I do this...The world is a better place.

Far from it, in fact if you are follower of Christ and read your bible, you know persecution will happen. In fact, you can expect it if you are His follower. But I'm just saying, when I tune out the world....My mind is focused heavenward.

I have this verse printed out and pinned up in front of my computer screen at home. It's something I truly believes helps my personal walk with Christ. When I focus on the good things, and there is a LOT of good things with The Way, I don't have time for the negative.

And again, I'm beating a dead horse here, I'm not saying it's a bad thing per se to know what's going on in the world....We are supposed and called to me watchmen on the walls...But when I shut out the noise, my day was really rewarding.

I don't have many hobbies that take my focus off Christ. In fact, I choose Him more than I thought I possibly could. You have to remember, I grew up secular and was pretty much raised in the world. So this is all new territory for me. And that entire day of being disconnected from the world, was a blessing.

I think I just need a filter of sorts. Because I'm never going to 'not pay attention' to what's going on. However the less I spend looking at what madness is going on in the world, and focus on Christ, my days truly are a joy.

Something that I've been thinking about after being on the road for a few days....Less world, more God.

It is great how taking a break from social media can help us refocus our priorities.

This is the most needed grace for all of us the children of God all around the world.

Jesus by his word made us to understand that tribulations shall abound on the earth at the end time, I know that even in his days, there were tribulations as well.

I think I will abide by this your pattern it's rebuilding. Thank you for sharing.

It's terrible that these things happen, but we must not lose hope in humanity.

That verse you pinned by the screen hit me today. It's the kind of filter I need when the feed turns into noise and my brain runs like an overworked spreadsheet. Disconnecting for a day doesn’t fix the world, but it gave me foucs and a quieter heart with CHrist at the center. I’m sorry about the news, but choosing what’s true and goood kept my mind steady and my steps simple :)

A good one friend, that mind shift to always think of 'everything good and positive' shifts you from secular mentality. About persecution, this one according to our Lord Jesus is inevitable. We count it all joy. Eyes on Jesus.
