Chaos!

We started this series....A month ago!

In that time we've gone over every verse from this Proverbs Men graphic and tonight.....We come to a close!

It's been such an awesome journey! And I can't thank you guys enough for hanging out and talking scripture with yours truly. I truly hope the #kingdomproverbs series has been, and continues to be a blessing for you on your walk in faith!

So as we bring this series to a close, I'll be on the hunt to find more graphics and verses that we can go over together. After all, this gives me something great to talk about each day so I hope to continue this....

And now, our last verse of the series and we see it here on the graphic:

The Proverbs Man & Woman keeps their cool in chaos....

Oh wow, let's see what the King James Version reads in Proverbs 14:30:

So at first glance, this doesn't seem to come across as.....Someone keeping their cool in chaos. So let's see if we find more clues to this verse from a different translation...

I like the English Standard Version (ESV) of this verse....

It reads "A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot."

So while it doesn't come across exactly as the graphic shows, this is still bang on advice from King Solomon. We've seen time and time again within our time in Proverbs, that the heart can do some pretty nasty things for our life. And the word tranquil here is pretty much the definition of 'keeping cool'. Solomon is telling us here that keeping our cool in difficult times, and things like envy can get us into big trouble.

That also plays into things that Paul spoke about in 1 Timothy 6 and in other book of the new testament. Envy is pretty much up there with pride as being some nasty character traits. Everything that separates us from Christ, usually has envy attached to it. So while it's not 'chaos' in a literal sense from that graphic, it can be compared to it for sure.

Most definitely more a tricky verse today to end our series. Not so much the message of Proverbs 14:30, it's more from what they put on the graphic. Still, a powerful reminder that keeping our cool in all situations, is the most advisable practice to keep.

Again, thanks for hanging out and talking Proverbs with me over the past month. I'll start looking for new things we can go over and study together :)

It has been truly nice engaging here. Dissecting the Word of God is something worthy of praise and emulation.

For believers, this verse underscores the profound connection between inner spiritual health and physical well-being, urging trust in God's sovereignty over harboring resentment.

A tranquil heart—rooted in faith, contentment, and love—promotes holistic life and vitality, reflecting obedience to God's commands.

As believers, we are called to guard our hearts diligently,as Jesus taught peace that surpasses understanding (John 14:27),countering worldly anxieties.

Envy acts like a corrosive disease, undermining joy, relationships, and even physical strength, much like "rottenness" in the bones.

As Christians, this sin disrupts fellowship with God and others, echoing warnings in the New Testament against jealousy (James 3:16).

Believers should cultivate peace through prayer, gratitude, and focusing on eternal inheritance in Christ, which brings true health and resilience.

Great 👍 one @jongolson, really enjoyed the series.Once again, Happy New Year and I appreciate all your support. God bless you and your family plenty! SHALOM!🙏

The difference between chaos and inner peace really strikes a chord with me, particularly as we deal with the challenges of life.

what a way to end it. After learning all, we have to keep cool. And as you've contributed, envy has been why many have strayed from happiness

I think I'm going to do a word study about 'envy' in the bible. See how many times it pops up

Thoughtful words, the heart has a big role to play in our life, that is why Proverbs 4:23 admonishes us to Guard our heart because that's the source of our life.
