An Unexpected Gift

Note: I will do #myhivegoals tomorrow night as I've been in a rush all weekend with work. But I have a heart felt story to share instead...
It's time to address the elephant in the room that you may or may not have been paying attention to 'My LEO Journey' over the past few years.
I was a ride or die for the platform. I believed in it, so much. And I wasn't alone. One of the greatest aspects of this chain, and that includes the LEO community was just that...The people I have met.
Obviously, things really took a turn for the worse over the past few months there. And I was 'kindly' shown the door, after years of dedicating my time and effort to the project.
Like the popular saying goes...Go where you are celebrated, not tolerated. So my time in LEO ended months ago, but the relationships I built with members there obviously continued.
One guy I met over the years and built a great relationship with was @dkid14
We share similar passions in the crypto space and always supported each other throughout the years. This guys was the salt of the earth kind of guy, just a real good family dude that loved crypto and loved the community.
LEO really hurt him, and he decided it was time to cash out and throw in the towel with the platform and sadly, I feel like he may be done with Hive as a whole. And I get it, I really doo.
There are some of us that have been here for so long and gone through so much, that that last straw from LEO or LEO Strategy or whoever or whatever is running the show was enough to break the camels back.
It really sucks when you put so much effort and energy into something just to see it explode in your face. So seeing my friend depart, sucks but completely understandable.
What I wasn't ready for was a comment he left me earlier last week...

I immediately responded with a question....Is everything ok?
I wasn't sure what was going on and then I did some digging. He decided it was time to go. And he ended up sending me....
1000 plus Hive.
What????
I was absolutely blown away. More so that he sent it to me, of all people, but also that he was calling it quits. This was such a bitter sweet moment, because I really hope he doesn't leave the chain for good.
But what generosity!
So I have the Hive liquid in my account right now and will be powering up the bulk of it, because I want to keep curating people here on chain. And the more Hive Power I have, the more of a difference I feel like I can make.
But I'll also end up sending HSBI shares to people who engage with me, and now I have a small bank of funds to do that with.
I'm so grateful!
But at what cost.....
I truly hope @dkid14 decides to stick around and while LEO 'Strategy' did us both harm, I hope he sees the amazing things that are being built here.
Snapie
Liketu
Ecency
Hive Grove

There are so many amazing things here...And as long as we don't forget the people, we will be ok.
I'm beyond grateful and thankful for my friend. Your gift will be treasured and used appropriately!
This is really amazing—I'm so happy for you.
Quit begging
Use ur own acc and say it.
Quit begging and this literally is my own account, because I own it beggard
Yeyé what eva u Say under the screen. 🌷🙂
It's actually a long standing ethics rule on Hive that you never beg... The OP agreed as well. You will burn more bridges than what you receive in help if you keep it up. Now, putting some effort into fixing your problem and sharing that will get you further
This!
I think Leo Strategy hurt the trust in LEO quite a bit. I am sad to hear that he quit, though. I hope he does stay, and I think LEO is just a small part of Hive.
I just spoke to him, he'll still be around. But just taking his time to get back that love for chain
I spent little time on the LEO platform, and I'm out of the loop on any drama there. I have some LEO tokens, and I'm content to HODL until it moons or goes to zero, whichever may be. It is sad when people leave, especially when there is so little info about why. maybe the bear market is too frustrating. Maybe there's a hidden conflict. Maybe they got scammed. Hard to say, but all should be avoidable and repairable. I'm here for the greater independence and censorship resistance no matter what else happens. I don't need more HBI tokens BTW.
I don't think LEO is a scam per se. It was Leo Strategy that hurt a lot of people. The big idea behind LEO from years ago was solid. They just forgot about people...and when you forget community, nothing ever good happens.
Life has a funny way of surprising us when we least expect it.
As you've mentioned goals, you can check the new Goals feature added on HivePulse app on the Hive blockchain to create better habits. Any feedback is welcomed as well. 😊
whoa....What is that???? I need to check that out
i must say, i lost some $20k on Cub. i did buy a lot of Leo many years ago so when one year ago price jumped high i sold more than 100k leo. so i almost recovered my loss. but i stoped investing into it after Cub fiasco. They only chase their own profits man. do not care about people.
i'm sure all the ZEC is doing great now. The second I saw that people didn't matter and he killed all the efforts to build community, it was time to cash out. I got real lucky to get out when I did because I was holding bags of it.
I guess Leo Strategy effects a lot of investors who put so much trust on it
a lot of us trusted that guy with everything
That was indeed a big amount of gift
I had dropped out of the loop back when LEO Strategy was still looking good. Overall, I've grown disenchanted with the entire platform as a game. That sounds like a bad thing. In reality, I'm just appreciating HIVE as a whole for what it does. For me, the important thing when I came to Hive was the censorship resistance and that I can post for free. I got caught up in the gamification and rewards. After my return, I'm more inclined to just enjoy it for what it is, a community and an audience.
Dude, that's exactly how am feeling these days. The projects are cool, but Hive seems to stay the course. Even if the price sucks lol
