People love to 'see' proof when it comes to Christianity.
And I get it...Seeing is believing after all, so the saying goes. And I'm not even going to bring up what Jesus said to Thomas when it came to the people that will truly be blessed...This post is about, evidence.
Tangible evidence.
No supernatural claims. Just some honest to goodness evidence that God does what He says He's going to do.
Let's take a quick trip back to Jongo...Circa 1993-2016
If you haven't caught on yet, that's me :)
And I'm going to show you something that can only be described as...Miraculous.
And yeah, you may need an ounce of faith to see the true message behind my new post, but we only need it to be the size of a mustard seed after all!
So Jongo was DEEP in the world...
Back in 1993 I was an ANGRY teenager. Angry at society. Angry at 'the man'. Angry at myself more than anything. Maybe it was my surroundings, maybe it was just a typical teenager. But that angry teen was in love with everything but God.
Swearing. Cursing. Drugs. Ego. Crime. Sex. And you know what, I thought it was all normal and the way things should be. And I'd love to tell you that everything changed the older I got but alas...It isn't that kind of story.
I get into my 20's and poof, I get my girlfriend at the time pregnant and I'm a new Dad. Of course, I was still, angry. And now my focus was solely on music and my love for it. In the world. Cursing, swearing, drugs you name it...Meanwhile, raising a brand new baby boy.
Surely in my 30's I'd wise up?
Nope. Now I'm making more money than I have eve in my life as my online businesses start to flourish. And instead of being a stand up Dad I'm....Cursing, drinking, drugs, sex....Are you noticing a pattern?
And then I turn 40....A few years earlier I met the woman that would become my wife and mother to my two younger sons. And she's just like me...In the world. And then everything changed.
It wasn't a 'message from God' per se in my life. There was no revelation of truth that I couldn't deny...It was literally this:
βO taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.β - Psalms 34:8
God put in on my heart that the life I was leading had zero future. In fact, He did something that only God would ordain, He made me go through the roughest patch of my life to humble me and make me look to Him for everything.
It might seem weird to those that may not believe spiritual things, but there is a saying that I have always remembered since my youth...
Your arms are too short to box with God.
I couldn't deny Him anymore. So I started to dig. I started to read. I started to give God the attention He deserves. And everything, and I mean everything changed.
No more cursing.
No more drugs.
No more drinking.
No more sex outside of marriage.
No more 'hands off parenting' either.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17
A new creature. Old things are passed away. All things are become new. I died. I literally killed the old 'Jongo' and became a new creature. So like I said, this is the greatest evidence I could ever describe when it comes to 'proof' that God exists.
If He can do this to me, a complete 180....He can truly work miracles in anyone's life. I'm living proof.
