Mom sounds determined perhaps she will simply keep to her word riding locally for fun and convenience.
Always two sides to a story we know when to stop driving when we find we no longer able, although I do think you are right perhaps safer walking or getting a lift cost of keeping a vehicle can end up being more than one wishes.

Yes, she's really determined and no one can stop her, we tried but she still did what she wants to wr just support her. We also nag her and remind her a lot of times to be careful 🤣🤣💕
