It sounds like a lot is going on. I find it funny what you say about her leaving to be independent and protect Lockwood, but she was back right away! Haha, teenage love interest stuff, I guess. Although yes, sometimes as a reader you wish the characters would stick to their guns. I wasn't familiar with the series, but with your enthusiasm and if it's similar to Percy Jackson (which a lot of people love), I'm sure it's a good choice for those who like that vibe!
