My Actifit Report Card: May 31, 2025

Yesterday I logged 6,326 steps on @actifit, roughly 3,700 steps short of my daily 10K step goal. It was the last day of May, and like most days this month, majority of my steps were logged doing Instacart deliveries. This morning when I woke up I noticed the dogs were acting weird in the corner of the room. The cats seemed to have caught a bat and it was disabled on the floor screeching. I used a towel to pick it up and put it outside and left a few pieces of apple near it just in case it needs some nutrients. Not sure if it will survive, but I don’t mind having them around and eating some of the bugs in the yard.

I remember a bat in our home a few years ago; 2 AM on a work night and I and my husband were trying to figure out how to catch it and release it outside. We were worried because they can carry rabies and we have 2 indoor kitties. With a little enginuity and persaverence, we were able to capture it in a 5 gallon bucket after knocking it out of the skylight onto the floor and using a large fishnet to keep it captive until we got the bucket over it. We both walked it outside whereas we released the bucket and the bat. Whew!

I hope your kitties haven't been bitten! Glad you got it outside!
