The very last statement on this post says it all, and knowing the American culture and especially the coffee industry, has watered it down with the focus being on the financial end; "weaken it a little bit at a time until we can put brown dye in the water and they will say it is good to impress someone." hahahahahaha!!!
I've never asked her, but one day I will have to ask my sister-in-law how she feels about the coffee here (she was born and raised in Tokyo, her mom still lives there, and she does go back to visit her).
