Reading your description of the experience in your opening paragraph, I can understand why you describe the experience as getting close to perfection!
Yes, we recently visited the Cumberland Nature Reserve where we also spent a lot of time out in nature and took various walks in nature! It was awesome!

Yes. It is a nature reserve just outside of Pietermaritzburg, about an hour's drive west (inland) from Durban on the east coast of South Africa.
Will need to visit South Africa someday!
That would be awesome! South Africa has much to offer, especially in terms of nature and wildlife!
