Stay alert from scammers

Scamming is a very common thing in the present time specially the online scamming. We can make online transaction that can make many things easier to us but at the same time it increases the risk of losing money also as for silly mistakes we may need to pay huge price like losing huge amount of money. So it's necessary to stay careful about the account security.

In my case I always try to stay cautious and in rare cases I makes mistakes when it comes to securing my asset. But last night I realised that sometimes I can also make mistakes and overlook some important things about the security. I don't know what was the reason for making such a silly mistake but I made it already. Let me share about it from the beginning.

Two days ago I paid for Inleo premium subscription as I like the premium service of Inleo. Sometimes activation of premium subscription delay and it's known to me. But this time even after 1 day premium subscription didn't active and naturally I made a thread with feedback tags. Most of the time I get my answer from threads but this time it didn't happen ( may be the team is busy with something I am not sure) and so I asked about it in the Inleo Discord server. One user offered me a helping hand as he said he also faced the same issue.

He directly messaged me and said not to worry as his problem solved after having a conversation through support ticket. I also know about the feature as I used it earlier. He shared a link to create a support ticket to solve the issue. I shared about the subscription issue and shared all the details needed there.

The admin asking for so many things and that seems difficult to understand because I didn't understand the connection with it and Hive. Later he shared a link and said completing those steps after connecting wallet the issues would be solved. I checked the link and there was no issues with a link. But there was way to connect Metamask, Trust wallet and so many wallet. None of them I used. There were a private key option to connect and I tried it using my active key. It didn't connect. The admin asked to input seed phase in the website and then connect it. Hive didn't give me any seed phase. So the admin asked me to add any of my seed phase of Metamask wallet. I didn't find any connections with it and sounds illogical because it has nothing to so with the transaction I made for premium services.

He said any of my account would work. So I submitted a zero balance Metamask wallet's seed phase because I don't use my main account for anything unless transferring my asset. It didn't connect but the admin said there must be some amount (at least 200/300$) in account. Hearing that my brain triggered immediately. I said the admin to show me where such kind of rules written. I realized that it was a trap and I already submitted a Metamask seed phase for connecting wallet and I was quite sure the so called admin got the seed phase of zero balance wallet. I remembered that I tried to login once using active key. I was thinking how to change my password and before I remember it I sent my HBD and Hive in savings for safety because in that case the scammer would not be able to transfer money before 3 days. Then I changed my password.

After doing all those I felt relief. I can't imagine how I became so foolish. Why didn't I realize it earlier when one person dm me at the beginning. I knew it was a common pattern but I almost fell on the trap. Maybe yesterday I was very tired and I wasn't thinking normally and didn't understand the simple trap. I feel bad thinking about it. Fortunately, I shared zero balance Metamask wallet's seed phase and I was fast enough to change my Hive password otherwise the consequences would be very bad. My premium subscription issue are yet to be solved but I hope it will be fine after I have a conversation with Inleo team.

I shared the incident to spread awareness otherwise I don't have the wish to share my stupidity with others.
