No benefit in restricting
We are living in 2025, and it's known as the digital world, and in this digital world, we have advanced technology. I think in the present time most of us know how to use modern technology for our benefit; even a little kid can understand well how to use the technology. In fact, sometimes it's surprising to see that little kids know more about modern technology compared to many seniors.
Everything has its pros and cons, and in the case of modern technology is also the same, but today I am going to limit myself to the discussion related to kids and social media accounts and smartphones. Do you think there is an ideal age for using a smartphone? I think there is no exact answer to it because it depends on the guardian. Let me share my thoughts related to it.
To be honest, I would love to restrict kids from using smartphones, at least for the first 10 years after their birth. It's because I believe that in the present time, most of the kids are getting busy with smartphones, and that they are losing their most beautiful childhood just by using smartphones. They are too busy using smartphones that they interact with fewer people, and the bonding between them and their friends and their family members is not as strong as it was in earlier days. I know many people are not very accepting of it, but it does not change the reality. I think parents are to blame for creating such a kind of situation because parents are the ones who gave smartphones to their children at an early age.
Unfortunately, the situation has already come to such a place that restricting kids from smartphones completely is not possible because parents can't restrict everyone's kid, and so somehow kids will get the touch of smartphones anyway. So I think restricting them completely can bring negative consequences, and it can create more curiosity in their minds about smartphones, as their curiosity will increase with time because kids desire the things more that they don't have, but their peers are already using them. Considering the current situation, I believe that giving them smartphones is a good option, but smartphones should be given to them for a limited time, like one or two hours in a day. In that way, their curiosity can be balanced.
Let's talk about the social media account for kids. I think somehow they will get a social media account, whether their parents want it or not. If parents try to restrict them, they will use their social media accounts secretly. So, there is no benefit in trying to stop using social media accounts. But at the same time, parents need to be careful because in social media, there is much violent content that is not suitable for kids. Fortunately, in social media, there are features available for kids. So parents can easily activate those features, and by activating those kids' features, the social media account will show only the content that is suitable for kids.
Now I have said many negative things about social media and about the possible solution to it, but using a smartphone can give you various kinds of headaches, too. Just because of smartphones, those kids can learn how to make money online from their early age, and there are many games that can be good for their mental growth. Like that, there are many advantages to using a smartphone early. I think parents should teach their kids how to make the best use of smartphones rather than misusing them to waste their valuable time.

Exactly...
Just because you don't give your kid a phone doesn't mean that they won't always have access to one. And when they're with phones without your knowledge, you can't know for sure what they're up to with it.
Hmm. Somehow they will get access from others and in that case their curiosity will be more then normal.
That's why I think their activities should be under monitoring.

I think it's a good idea to let kids use their phones for a while. As long as they're using their phones, they should be shown the good things, and they'll also understand how to earn money online.
Yes, that's a good idea. I like it.
They should be allowed as there is not other options to restrict but their activities should be monitored to avoid unexpected risk and consequences.
