Money is more important than health. isn't it?
"Health is wealth," "Wealth is useless if you are unhealthy," "Without good health, thinking to live a happy life is an illusion," blah blah blah. There are tons of sentences like that that say that health is very important for us to live a good life, and all of us agree with those as they are true. We even use those sentences to make others understand the importance of good health. But when it comes to our case, do we understand it? We give a positive answer to it, but our actions/activities tell a different story.
Nobody wants to be sick, but sickness can't always be avoided. Sometimes, our immune system fails to protect us, and we become sick. Some sicknesses are temporary, and some are long-lasting. Some are not curable. It says that all the detection of illness can maximize the possibility of getting well soon and receiving minimum damage. Unfortunately, most of us can detect illness after it becomes serious. In that case, we need to suffer more and receive the damage for it, which can be avoided.
If I remember correctly, a doctor recommended doing full-body checkups every 6 months. If it is not possible, then at least once a year. I think the doctor said it because most illnesses do not show symptoms in the beginning, and it's hard to notice. When a disease shows symptoms, it becomes serious, and we need to suffer for it. In some cases, it's too late to start proper treatment for a disease. Early detection of a disease can help us to receive early treatment, which can reduce our suffering.
We always recommend others to take care of their health properly, but when it comes to our case, we don't do that. I think it's easy to give lectures to anyone, but when it comes to us, we start to consider many things. I think the financial issue is one of the matters of concern in that case because full-body checkups require a good amount of money, which is enough for a middle-class family to run for one month. Just imagine how expensive it is. In my family, there are five members, and in that case, I need to spend a huge sum, which is enough to run our family for five to six months. I won't dare to, or anyone in my family dared to, go for full-body checkups anytime unless it's inevitable. Considering 5-6 months, we are ready to gamble with our health because money is the most important thing to survive. It's because if we don't do it, we may end up for hunger, which is a dead end.
In recent times, mental health has also become a matter of concern because most people are busy using technological devices and are spending less time offline, which is harmful for mental health. In the present time, many people are suffering from depression, and the rate of suicide has also increased. So, mental health should not be taken lightly in this digital world. If the government makes a rule for compulsory health checkups once each year, it sounds good from a health perspective, and in that case, people can reduce health risks. But is it realistic?
In my opinion, it's just an illusion unless the government makes it free for everyone because most of the people in my country are very poor, and they struggle to arrange food for their daily lives. Even the middle assembly people can't afford to go for full health checkups for every family member. So, if the government tries to implement such a rule without reducing the cost or making it free, it will be ridiculous. Moreover, I think most of us take our health for granted, and we really don't care about checking up because we think it's a waste of our money.

I think that many of us ard guilty of not caring for our healths. We'd rather preach it to others but ignore it in our cases which is bad.
And again, i understand that the bill for checkups don't come cheap. But speaking from my perspective and based on the region where I reside, I think saving aside little sums to this effect is not impossible. If we're being true to ourselves, we'd agree that if a person falls ill, they'll do all they can and try as they can to gather the money for bills, why can't it be so for checkups that may be helpful for detecting and treating anomalies(if any)
When people become sick, they can gather bills for it, but not everyone can do that. In such a case, there is a clear reason to spend money, but in the case of health checkups, the disease is uncertain, and full-body checkups are more costly than a specific disease treatment from the surface.
We can be complacent most of the time when it comes to our health; even when we feel something is wrong, we still postpone getting checked.
Actually we care about our money and we are not ready to spend our money for uncertain things.

A lot of us don't go for health checks not because we don't want or know how important early detection is but because of the money involved. There are unending bills plus fod which we can't avoid...so this makes health not a top priority for many
However, if government should make it free... lots of people will key in..not everyone oo, just many people...others wouldn't care..lol
Hmm. Health is important but the food to survive is more important that it and so people don't want to lose money for a uncertain things known as early detection which is just a possibility.

As in ehn... It's so easy to advise people about checkups and whatnot, it's easy to talk about the importance and why we must all do it. Yet, when it comes to our turn, we start to think of everything involved. And start thinking of why we can't do it. It's just how we are.
Hmm. Giving suggestions are quite easy and we don't need to consider all the things in that time but in our case we need to consider all the things and we take backfoot in that case.
