Lies are not evil all the time
Our parents always told us to speak the truth all the time and not to tell a lie. Truthfulness and honesty can save us from trouble, and those are good qualities of humans. On the other hand, they try to restrict us from telling a lie, as such a kind of action is considered evil. But do we follow the instructions completely? I don't think so, as we all learn how to tell a lie.
Some of us tell lies because they are used to telling lies in the maximum time, and it seems hard for them to speak the truth. They tell lies for no reason. I don't know why they do that, but that's how they are, and very few people believe them in real life. Again, some people tell lies to protect themself or for the betterment. Does it mean telling a lie is an evil act that should be punished?
I think it matters when and why a lie is told, and does it harms others? I think there is nothing wrong if a lie doesn't harm others. In fact, I have seen that many lies are good for us, and there is no need to think about it differently. Let me share some lies I have heard many times.
I have noticed that my mother told lies to my father about the savings. I mean the money she could save from the monthly expenses. I never found it to be an evil act. Naturally, the source of the money was from my father. What's the benefit of hiding it from my father? It's because my mother is saving it for any emergency situation. Each time my family needed money in emergencies, my mother didn't ask for others' help, as she had the money she had saved.
Let's share another common example of lies. Each time students come home after finishing an exam, parents ask if the exam went well or not. With some exceptions, most students say that the exam went very well, and then they may get a good result. I think it's a lie for most students, and they choose to say it. Do you think it's good? Although I didn't need to tell the lie because my maximum exam was good, considering the average students, I think it's worth telling the lie. I think there is no benefit to telling the truth at that time because it can't change the result. So, why does a student bear the scolding from parents, which they will bear again after the result also? If truth can bring trouble, it's better to tell a lie rather than tell the truth.
Again, there are some truths that can make us angry easily, especially in a time when we want to hear the truth. It's kind of a trap because we just want to get angry after hearing some shocking truth, but if the truth is told a few hours later or a few days later, we may not suffer a huge loss for it, but we won't get angry for it as we cool down in that time.
So, in my eyes, I don't encourage anyone to tell a lie, but I think that if a lie can bring a better output than the truth, it's worth telling a lie, and we shouldn't hesitate to tell such a lie.

A dilemma that only we personally have to find the right solution to.
I think it's not easy to find an exact answer of it.
Indeed... The motive matters because that will determine if we did the right thing or not. Our reason for the lie is every bit as important as the lie itself.
Hmm. But I think most of us tell lie for our own interest and later we try to give a justifiable good motive.
I totally agree to this, the motive matters the most.
Indeed. motive matters here.
It's still best to tell the truth :)
I also agree but sometimes it's good tell the truth after little delay for betterment.
