It's not so hard to make a decision
It says that what we are today is for the decisions we made yesterday, and what we will be tomorrow will be decided by the decisions we make today. I think the sentence's meaning is quite powerful, and I agree with it because our decision-making ability decides our future in most cases.
So it's very necessary to make the right decision if we want to live a happy and better life. So, how should we make decisions, or what is the ideal decision-making process? To be honest, I think there is no ideal decision-making process because even an ideal decision can bring negative consequences depending on the situation. So I think an ideal decision sounds like an illusionary thing. Still, if I want to say something about an ideal decision, it should be like a decision that I will not regret, even if the consequences are not good. Sounds like philosophy. Right? Okay, then I am not saying more about it. Let's talk about the process of decision-making.
I am always calm in nature, and I have a robotic mentality, so my emotions can hardly influence my decisions. It's one kind of advantage for me because most people make wrong decisions because they are driven by their emotions, which have nothing to do with logic. I agree that in some cases it's said to involve emotion while making a decision, but in most cases it's good to keep aside the emotion while making a decision.
Like others, I also always try my best to make the best decisions, but sometimes my decisions can bring negative consequences and indicate my lacking or loopholes while making decisions. I think those are just a setup to make better decisions in the future in major cases, and with time, our responsibility increases as well as the impact of our decisions. So, careful consideration is compulsory.
When making a decision, at first I consider whether to make a decision for myself or for others. If I am making a decision for others, then obviously I need to consider the opinions and suggestions of those people who are related to it. If it's not possible to take their opinion, then I must consider myself in their shoes and understand the situation for them, which can help me decide if the decision is good for them or not. When I decide for others, I can be thoughtful about it. Nothing more.
When I need to make a decision for myself, I need to think a lot. Obviously, at the beginning, without any kind of consideration, I make a decision, and I think it's just based on feelings or based on emotions. After that, I start to think deeply about the benefits and losses as well as the consequences of the decisions. Sometimes, for long-term benefit, I may need to go through some negative impacts, and I try to find a coping mechanism to overcome the situation.
There is no guarantee that a decision will be accurate, as I am not a god. So in some cases, my decision can be bad, and it can backfire on me. So, obviously, I always try to guess all the negative consequences and the possible solutions for them. It means I always make several backup plans while making a decision because I want to play it safe, and I don't want to lose control in any kind of situation.
Most of the decisions I make are solo decisions, but I seriously consider the opinions of my parents, friends, and experienced people. They can't influence my decision too much, but they can help me make my decision better and understand it from a different perspective. Whatever, I am the one to decide what to do and what not.

I agree with here @intishar . Sometimes the decisions we feel are ideal can turn out to be wrong in the long run especially when our decisions are made with emotions
I believe in thinking 💭 things twice before making decisions, and always listens to my instincts for directions to avoid consequences.

Laying aside emotions is a good way to go when it comes to decision making even though, we can never be perfect with our decisions most times.
It's good that sometimes you listen to the opinion of ur parents and some friends to help you in making ur decisions, even though they can't control ur final take in an issue

I quite agree with the sentences in your first paragraph. Our future is dependent on the decision we make today and this is why we must be careful not to rush into making any decision whether for us or others. Although, we don’t know whether our decisions might turn out good or bad but we still tend to try first while taking the risk hoping things would turn how we want it to be.
