It's extremely risky to use smartphone
Using a smartphone is a very natural thing at the present time. In fact, for various purposes, we are dependent on smartphones. Almost everyone uses a smartphone in this digital world. At least I haven't seen anyone without using a smartphone. It says that everything comes to this world in pairs. In the case of smartphones, it's also the same. Despite its usefulness, there are negative sides to it. But at the end, we are the ones who are the deciders of how to use it.

It is known to all that excessive use of smartphones can disturb our sleep, and it can create various kinds of health issues. It can also be a reason to destroy a good future career, and I have witnessed many like that. Many also complain that because of smartphones, the bonding between family members is getting weaker. There are many more disadvantages, but I didn't find anything risky that may take the life of someone. From a general perspective, thinking that is very natural, but I think it is very risky if we cannot control where and when to use it. Let me share why I am saying that.
Two days ago I was going to my tuition. Someone messaged me on my WhatsApp, and that's why I took my smartphone in hand. While checking the message, my walking speed slowed down. I can walk faster, but for safety purposes I reduce my speed whenever I take a smartphone in my hand. Seeing that an old man indirectly criticized me, saying, "The people of the young generation have become crazy for smartphones. What fun they get using it all the time." He didn't mention me, but he understood he was actually saying it to me indirectly. His tone was kind of disrespectful, and I didn't like how he said it. I didn't say a word, but I kept walking beside the old person, keeping my mobile in my hand, which I don't usually do. I am naturally a calm person, and so there was no reason I became angry by hearing a side comment from a stranger. I wanted to be in the same place with that man because I wanted to irritate the man and also because he didn't have the right to say anything disrespectfully. After that the old man said much more, but I kept pretending like I was not hearing 😅. In fact, the man became irritated by my actions, and I didn't get any response from my side. So after 2 minutes, the person stopped talking, as I was not comforting him. But without saying a single word, I punished him by irritating him. I understood the reason for his criticism, which is logical, but he chose to be impolite, and that's why I acted like that; otherwise, there is no way I would mess with anyone easily.
Later, when I separated from the old man, I started to count how many young people were using smartphones while walking. According to my statistics, exactly 33% of young people were using smartphones while walking on a busy road. It's something serious because 33% is not little. Those young people can face any kind of roadside accident because of it. It is extremely risky using a smartphone while walking, especially on my country road, and one can lose one's precious life also because of it. I think such a habit is life-threatening, and one should not use a smartphone while walking, especially on a busy road.

The use of smartphones has become an addiction for many, so many rely on it too much that they can't be away from it for long.
The story about you and the old man is a funny one, it's always best to say things or warn others politely.
I don't use a smartphone while I am walking on a road, but the way the old man said it was impolite. I agree with his thoughts. Young people using smartphones on the road is extremely risky.

I could remember years ago of a young boy who lived not far from our house, who was busy with his smartphone and had a Bluetooth plugged in his ears while walking on the road. That was the end of him that day as he was hit by a moving trailer. It was so sad.
I am always afraid of using my phone while walking, especially on the road. Not only does it make my walk slower, things might go wrong also.
