Consequences of forgetting

We are human, and it's in our nature to forget many things. Some people forget only sometimes, but there are some people who forget frequently, and I belonged to the second category if I consider my younger self, but in recent years, I don't forget things frequently like it was in the past. In fact, I think now I have a strong memory, and I rarely forget things in recent days. It seems that with my growth, my situation is improving, and it's a good sign for me.

But in the past, many incidents occurred because of my forgetful nature, and I needed to face the consequences of it many times, but today I am going to share about one incident that was significant, and I still remember the incident.

I can't exactly remember that time, but the incident occurred at least 4 to 5 years ago. I went to my village with my family members to spend the holiday. I enjoyed myself quite well in the village, but for some reason, my parents needed to stay for some more days, and naturally, my siblings would stay in the village with them and return with my parents. But for me, the case was different because all of my students were waiting for me, and as a teacher, I couldn't allow myself holidays to extend it for more days. Such a kind of situation was not ideal, and as a responsible teacher, I could not allow it to happen.

Again, I needed to return to town to submit an important assignment. During the time of the holiday, I put a lot of effort into the assignment, and if I couldn't submit in time, my effort would be meaningless. I think nobody wants to see that effort become meaningless, so in my case, it was the same. So I packed my bag and returned to the city. Approximately after 2 hours of journey, I returned to the city. But the moment I came down from the vehicle and took a few steps, I realized that I forgot the most important thing, and it's bringing the key of the flat. For a while, my mind became blank and I didn't know what to do. So, I called my mother and informed her about the situation, and in that case, she couldn't help me except by feeling bad.

It would not be a concerning issue for me if I could go to my aunt's place, but unfortunately, she was not in town at that time. There are many relatives in the city, but I was not comfortable staying in any of those relatives' houses. After thinking, I called one of my best friends who was my roommate before my family shifted to the city. It was good for me that he was available, and I went to his mess. I want you, and fortunately, in my bag, there were my clothes and other necessary things I needed in daily life. I stayed there for two days and completed my other tasks, which is why I had come to the city early. However, I needed to cover a longer distance to complete the task, which was very irritating and time-consuming. Moreover, for all the things I need, I am not available there.

So after two days, I went back to my village again, and I took the key to my flat and came back immediately. It cost me extra money, suffering, and a waste of my time, which was unwanted, and I suffered the consequences only just because of forgetting about the key to my flat.
