Ladies Of Hive Community Contest #281, I Prefer working From The Scerenity Of My Home.

Question 1;

"Do you prefer working from home or getting to the office? Why?"
Ladies Of Hive Community Contest #281.

Work and working is our identity in life. The kind of work we do projects our status to everyone that sees us, knows about us, or have heard about us, often times, without our knowledge that many knows us by the work we do. The work we do announces us to our world.

For instance, the Nigerian strong woman, "Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iwuala", is presently, the Director General Of The World Trade Organization

Her work life and her position at work has just announced both her personality and her caliber, this is her status and her level at her work to everyone that hears her name and her position at work. This is exactly what work does to our personality.

To me, I prefer question number one,
"working from home"

*For so many reasonable reasons, I love to work from the comfort of my own beautiful home. Continually enjoying the ambiance of my loved and comfortable home. This gives me joy and fulfillment all day.

*You see.. , working from home gives some people freedom of interaction, togetherness in the family, eating from your own pots, the food you cooked by yourself with quality ingredients of your choice not managing what someone else prepared as they like.

*Working from home saves time and added no stress about traffic conjections that has ruined almost every day's joy for the people in the high broad cities, mostly in my country.

*Did you know that in some part of the City of Lagos, Nigeria, some people do leave their houses for work as early as 4:30 am and still get late to work because of the stressful and unbearable traffic conjections on their way to work. This is a real life scenario, no joking at all!.

*This digital era has opened up lots of beautiful benefits about people's work life. There's this one known as 'Remote Job".

This type of work life allows anyone to work from home as in a complete office setting. It has work times table. Your job per day, minutes and hours are scheduled in a form like you are in a physical office space.

*Being intentional about it. Getting up early in the morning, take your shower, dress up as if you are going to the office, take your breakfast if you so wish and then begin to work.

*Be so consumed and bend into the work. Have your break lunch hour when it's the time for that, resume to work at the appropriate time, you will now see how much productive you will be, just working from your own home.

*You are equally saving so much money, time and you will look very much refreshed, happier, at ease and at the same time, interwoven and bonding in love with your family members.

*Raising your children by yourself. Care for them taking time to know them on one on one basis, knowing their characters and behaviors. Giving them quality training and loving them more. Taking time to handle their school run needs. Either you do it or contract it to someone to ease you up.

*You will not spend much money on fuel, impromptu buyings along the road as like when going or coming back from work. Buying only those things that are needed at home.

*Nomore colleague intimidations at work like as it sometimes happens in some offices. You are some how free from all those, though you might still have a boss over you but it's nomore like business as usual.

*There's this family I know, their marriage is just three years old with two babies. One is two years and some months. The newest is just two months of age. The husband resigned from his very attractive 9-5 daily routine job and took to a work from home type. "The remote job" recently.

*He is enjoying it so much now, but usually gets up by 5: am everyday except Saturday and Sunday to prepare and drive to work and come back every evening. Sometimes, very late because of traffic conjections, some other times earlier if the road was free. Coming back tired, exhausted, and won out but must go again the next day, year after year till retirement age... it's too stressful.

*Now he sleeps well and full, gets up from 6: am prepares their first child and drives her to her kindergarten class in school. He comes home showers, dresses casual, takes his breakfast and start up on his laptop till his lunch break which is 12 pm or 1:pm. By 2: pm, he goes back for school run. Brings daughter back home, takes some naps, goes back on his job.

*Doing it till later in the evening. Some times, he gets up in the night to do some work if so required from his Boss, his Supervisor and Superiors from their US office that employed him. They all talk audibly when the need arises. I like his remote job work life. It's very convenient and they pay him in US dollars.

*He is loosing nothing, rather he is gaining so much freedom and has financially increased .The exchange rate has doubled his income. He now cares more for his family doing other things he could not do before and still works and is earning far better than before. This is the best work life, I know!

In conclusion,
I love and choose work from home work life, otherwise known as "Remote Job".

Your point are valid.
For me I prefer going to the office, human interaction is important for our mental health too.

Okay, if you are the type that lives at Igandu, Ikotuegbe, Agege, Ikorodu and many other surbub towns in Lagos state that starts going to their work places in Lagos Island, Lekky, and Victoria Island, Lagos mainland by 4: am and still get there very late.

They start going home from their work places by 5:00 pm and get into their houses at that kind 12: midnight or 1:am.

If you are in their shoes, Nne... you will totally forget about the "human interactions" and save your soul first.

Ask Lagosians about what I have just shared, you will know it's a real situation on ground.

Thank you!!

some people do leave their houses for work as early as 4:30 am and still get late to work because of the stressful and unbearable traffic conjections on their way to work

The same scenario here in the Philippines coz transportation consumes a lot of time. Then people would go back home at night, tired, and no more time to mingle with the family, then that would happen 5-6 days a week. That sucks. So many prefer WFH.

But expect there are consequences in WFH setup. Clients are mostly abroad, so you need to adopt with their time as well. That means, some do graveyard shift.

Work from home is not perfect no doubt. And, you know, nothing in life is perfect without planning and wisdom.

If anyone wants to work from home, you will first of all arrange yourself. Schedule every aspect of your time, and the work then check to confirm with time. It's doable.

You highlighted valid points on why working from home is a no brainer.
However, it has its own ugly sides too, just like office work. In fact, with the condition of the country now, working from home seems to be the best.

Yes, but on the real sense of it, these two options should be applied so that workers may not be bored.
