I'm powering up hives to build up my reputation...!
Hello Hive and Hello Community,
The question this week is...
Power up or cash out, what's your strategy?
Hive is a journey, a long journey for that matter. We must adopt a strategy or strategies to follow it and get the most out of HIVE.
Initially, when I was onboarded into Hive, my onboarder excited me by telling me that hive is a platform where if I write contents I will be paid in dollars and will be cashing out in dollars. He said that I will certainly make so much dollars before six months time.

This is a screenshot from this contest post.
By a year's time, I would have been very rich in dollars. I was totally excited, convinced and joined hive with this one serious mind blowing strong desire. I was consumed with this particular joy and expectations to become very rich in dollars, you know dollar is rated so high in my country.
But as time went on, I discovered by myself that what he told me was not the total truth about hive rules, about our rewards and the dollars. Hive Ecosystem do power ups on monthly basis to build up our hive power to increase our visibility and we are frowned at if we continue to cash out too often.
That explanations did not emphasize much about building up of people's reputation by powering ups. But gradually I noticed that building up someone's reputation in hive is by powering up on the first days of every month all through the year and for a very long time or as you choose to do.
Then I was a kind of disappointed about what he told me. Then i began strategizing on what i need to do to abide by the rules for a long term purpose. Powering up to build up my reputation is as important as cashing out which was my main purpose of joining hive in the first instance. Building up my Hive Power is as important as cashing out some rewards to sort out some immediate family or personal needs too.
I can never say I have not been cashing out some rewards from hive. I have been cashing out some when the need arises and have been powering up so much. Sometimes in some months others when I just feel like powering up and I will power up.. Since this year, hive potentials had dropped this low I have never cashed out because I can't waste my hard earned hive dollars by cashing out rewards now that the value is this low..
I have never powered down since I joined hive closed to three years now. I have kept on building up my Hive Power for a better reputation
I really need money right now and right away but because of my future expectations that's why for a very long time, I have not cashed out a dime. I have kept on building my hive power up.
I'm rather building up my Republican by powering up hive power than cashing out rewards
Thank you for coming around.

Imagine, getting rich within six months of joining, ha! 🤣 Abeg oo. 😂
It's nice you're building up your stake in the community rather than cashing them all out. Like I told you the other day, this is the best time to be consistent, post more so you can earn and power up too.
Good luck.

You are very right, I'm trying and hopefully it will increase.
Would love to join but nobody answered my question on the community rules and such. Sad but such is life.
Open up the community and read through their rules, that's the normal way to know and join communities and contests.
