Alive & Thriving ThankfulThursday : Cooler Temp Is Lit 🙌 || AATYr6 || Prompt A Day 😊

Almost the weekend now 😃 However, it's been a strange week -- weather wise, that is. I would not complain at all as it's really cooler inside the flat (28C -- new record low without the cooling system). 😁 I actually wish it would be this cool all year round. It seems it's only possible when there's typhoon that pulls in much of the rain caused by the southwest monsoon. I track the weather via official weather site. The map there shows there were two typhoons, but apparently one has exited the country already earlier in the afternoon. The remaining one is stronger though, but would probably make a landfall in the northern part of the country. Rainfall prediction for us is lower now at 50-100 mm.

Despite the seemingly bad weather, I'm thankful for a roof over my head and relatively safer place of residence. Once again, the flooding around the metro was really bad. It's pretty strange 'coz this rainfall does not compare to past disasters. The street down below did not even get flooded. I personally think someone should look into the government spending on flood control. Like this article from Rappler. If I'm not mistaken, billions of pesos are being spent and yet nothing gets resolved. It does make one wonder where the funds have gone. 🤔

So timely to talk about free speech esp. at this time when calamity hits a lot of places in my country. The rain and flooding brought about by the southwest monsoon is a recurring issue in the country. It's not even a major cyclone or anything, yet the flooding is alarming. More folks should express dissatisfaction with how some government agencies fail to deliver despite the huge budgets they get. 🤔 I do wonder if the problem would ever be resolved in my lifetime.

Wow, one week left in July. I'm definitely counting down. As for the weather, it's wait and see if it would continue to rain esp. over the weekend. 🤔 I honestly could get use to this cooler temp. 😅 I don't want it to end.
