Welcome to Paris, for the first time / Bienvenidos a París por primera vez (eng-esp)
Hello, fellow travelers.
Welcome to Paris!
I'm in France for the first time, and I've started off on the right foot: visiting its famous capital. I've only been here for a short time (a few hours). I took a nap after arriving at my accommodation and then went for a walk around the city.
The first thing I looked for was the Seine. I've heard and read so much about this river. The most common rumor was that it was dirty and smelled bad. I don't know why people say such nonsense, because it's very easy to see that it's not true. The river is very clean and doesn't have any unpleasant odor. Walking along its banks is a very pleasant experience.
The view is amazing. It was also amazing to see that pair of swans swimming peacefully. This city is beautiful and full of surprises.
But the surprises didn't end there. There weren't just swans swimming peacefully. Look at that duck having fun in the fountain! Maybe it's common for the locals, but for me it's surprising. Just like the wide variety of colors of the leaves on the trees is surprising.
#Paris right now looks like a painter's palette, full of vibrant autumn colors, and autumn hasn't even started yet. That's why there are still trees with completely green leaves.
Like any good traveler, I had a goal for today. I have a list of places I want to visit during my stay in Paris. But, while I was walking, I realized that the surprises weren't over yet. In a city where everything is in French, this sign really caught my eye. The small shop "Calle 8" (Street 8), a clear reference to the fact that the owners are Cubans who emigrated from Miami. Cubans carry our hometown with us wherever we go.
As a writer, there's one place I can't miss... well, there are several, but there's one we always look for: bookstores. Look at this beautiful bookstore.
This place is 199 years old. In 2026, it will celebrate its bicentennial. And look at how many books it has, how well the building is preserved, and how beautiful its rooms are. The bookstore is huge. This is just the entrance hall. Since I was just strolling around, I couldn't stay long. But I will come back.
After grabbing a quick bite at a street vendor, I arrived at my destination: the Moulin Rouge. It is undoubtedly imposing and spectacular. Everyone who passed by couldn't help but look at it. So many images and memories flooded my mind! So many! Especially those from the musical, and I swear I even half-expected Toulouse-Lautrec to appear, haha! I couldn't help but think about it.
And this was my itinerary for the first day. I'll share more photos from my upcoming travels soon. I have many more days ahead of me.

Hola, viajeros.
Bienvenidos a París.
No solo había cisnes nadando tranquilamente.
¡Cuántas imágenes y recuerdos vinieron a mi mente! No pude evitarlo.
